PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. — If you live in Pembroke Pines and are sorting through Medicare Advantage choices for 2026, the first useful step is a simple one: see who is selling plans here, what kind of plans they are, and whether prescription drug coverage is built in.
Key takeaways
- Broward County residents, including those in Pembroke Pines, can choose from Medicare Advantage plans offered by 17 carriers in 2026, and all of them include prescription drug coverage.
- Plans come in three network shapes locally — HMO, HMO-POS and PPO — and a large share are Special Needs Plans (SNPs) built for people with specific conditions, dual Medicare-Medicaid status, or who live in an institution.
- The Annual Enrollment Period runs Oct. 15 through Dec. 7, and Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment runs Jan. 1 through March 31.
- Plan-specific costs, benefits and star ratings are not listed here; use Medicare Plan Finder at medicare.gov or the plan's own documents for those details.
Pembroke Pines sits in Broward County, and Medicare Advantage availability is set at the county level by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). For plan year 2026, 17 carriers are offering Medicare Advantage in Broward County. Every one of those plans includes Part D prescription drug coverage. The full carrier-by-carrier list, with plan type and drug-coverage note, is in the table below.
What "Medicare Advantage" means here
Medicare Advantage (Part C) is private insurance that replaces the way Original Medicare pays for Part A and Part B services. Most Medicare Advantage plans also bundle in Part D drug coverage, which is why you'll often see the label "MA-PD." In Broward County for 2026, every Medicare Advantage plan on the CMS landscape file includes drug coverage.
That is worth noting because there are no stand-alone Part D drug plans listed for Broward County in 2026 on the MA landscape file. If you want drug coverage through a Medicare Advantage plan in Pembroke Pines, it will come as part of the plan you pick.

Plan types you'll see on the list
Medicare Advantage plans in the area come in a few shapes, and the type affects how you use your coverage. In Broward County for 2026, the mix is 83 HMO plans, 13 HMO-POS plans, and 23 PPO plans.
- HMO (Health Maintenance Organization): You generally use a set network of doctors and hospitals, and you may need a referral to see a specialist. Examples on the local roster include Aetna Medicare Select, BlueMedicare Classic, and Humana Gold Plus H1036-065C.
- HMO-POS (Point of Service): An HMO with a limited option to use some out-of-network care. Examples include Aetna Medicare Select Extra and CareOne Plus.
- PPO (Preferred Provider Organization): More flexibility to see out-of-network providers, usually at a higher cost share. Examples include BlueMedicare Select, HumanaChoice Florida H5216-068, and AARP Medicare Advantage from UHC FL-0031.
Special Needs Plans are a big share of the lineup
Of the 119 Medicare Advantage plans available in Broward County for 2026, 69 are Special Needs Plans (SNPs). These are designed for people who fit a specific situation:
- D-SNP (Dual Eligible): For people who have both Medicare and Medicaid. Examples: Aetna Medicare Dual Select, Wellcare Dual Access Sync, UHC Dual Complete FL-Q1.
- C-SNP (Chronic Condition): For people with certain chronic conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, or chronic kidney disease. Examples: Humana Gold Plus - Diabetes and Heart, Gold Dialysis & Kidney, Solis Wellness Plan.
- I-SNP (Institutional): For people who live in a nursing facility or need a similar level of care. Examples: Premier Care, Longevity Health Plan, UHC Nursing Home Plan FL-F001.
You must meet the eligibility rules to enroll in an SNP. If you are unsure whether a plan on the list is an SNP, check the plan-type column on the table.
Drug coverage and the 2026 Part D rules
Because every Medicare Advantage plan in Broward County for 2026 includes Part D, the program-level Part D rules apply to your drug costs inside your plan:
- The Part D out-of-pocket cap is $2,100 for 2026. Once your covered drug spending reaches that amount, you pay $0 for covered Part D drugs the rest of the year.
- The maximum Part D deductible is $615, though many plans set theirs lower.
- The old coverage gap (the "donut hole") was eliminated in 2025. Part D now has three phases: deductible, initial coverage, and catastrophic.
- The Medicare Prescription Payment Plan lets you spread your out-of-pocket drug costs across the calendar year in monthly installments, at no extra charge. You have to opt in with your plan.
The plan-specific formulary — which drugs are covered, at what tier, and with what prior authorization — is different for each plan. Check the plan's own documents or use Medicare Plan Finder on medicare.gov to compare drug coverage.
Dates to keep on the calendar
- Oct. 15 – Dec. 7: Medicare Annual Enrollment Period. You can join, switch or drop a Medicare Advantage plan, or change Part D coverage.
- Jan. 1 – March 31: Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period. If you're already in a Medicare Advantage plan on Jan. 1, you can switch to another Medicare Advantage plan or return to Original Medicare (and add a Part D plan).
- IRMAA: Higher-income beneficiaries pay an income-related surcharge on Part B and Part D. For 2026, IRMAA begins above $109,000 in income for a single filer.
How to use the table
The table on this page shows every Medicare Advantage plan available in Broward County for 2026, organized by carrier. For each plan you'll see:
- Plan name (spelled as CMS lists it),
- Plan type (HMO, HMO-POS, PPO, and any SNP designation),
- Whether drug coverage is included (all of these do).
The table does not show premiums, copays, deductibles, networks, extra benefits, or star ratings. Those change from plan to plan and are best pulled directly from the plan's own documents or from the Medicare Plan Finder at medicare.gov, where you can enter your ZIP code, doctors and medications.
