- The Annual Enrollment Period (Oct. 15 – Dec. 7) is when most people should compare and switch; changes made then take effect Jan. 1.
- Read the Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) your plan mailed in September — it lists exactly what is changing for your specific plan.

The table below lists every 2027 plan sold in Marion County, by carrier.
Plans not returning after 2026
If you are enrolled in one of these, your coverage ends Dec. 31, 2026, and you will need to act. The plans leaving Marion County are:
- Wellcare Assist (HMO-POS), Wellcare Assist Open (PPO), and Wellcare Patriot Giveback Open (PPO) from Centene (WellCare)
- Humana Gold Choice H8145-032 (PFFS), Humana Gold Plus Chronic Kidney Disease (HMO C-SNP), Humana Gold Plus H5619-049 (HMO-POS), Humana Together in Health (PPO I-SNP), Humana USAA Honor Giveback with Rx (PPO) (two contracts), HumanaChoice Giveback H5216-309 (PPO), HumanaChoice Giveback H7617-003 (PPO), and HumanaChoice H5216-114 (PPO) from Humana
- Provider Partners Indiana Community Plan (HMO I-SNP) from Provider Partners Health Plans
- AARP Medicare Advantage from UHC IN-0007 (PPO) from UnitedHealthcare
If your plan is on that list, your carrier is required to send a non-renewal notice. Keep it — it's proof you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period.
New plans arriving for 2027
Fifteen Medicare Advantage plans are new to Marion County for 2027:
- Aetna Medicare Chronic Care (HMO C-SNP) from Aetna (CVS Health)
- DEVOTED C-SNP CHOICE GIVEBACK EXTRAS 022 IN (PPO C-SNP) and DEVOTED CHOICE GIVEBACK EXTRAS 023 IN (PPO) from Devoted Health

- Provider Partners Indiana Community Plan (HMO I-SNP) from Provider Partners Health Plans (a new plan under a familiar name)

New does not mean better or worse — it means new. You'll want to check the network, drug list, and costs against your current plan before switching.
Plans that are renamed
Seven plans are keeping their contract but changing their name for 2027:
- DEVOTED C-SNP CHOICE ENHANCED 014 IN (PPO C-SNP), formerly DEVOTED C-SNP CHOICE PREMIUM 014 IN (PPO C-SNP)
- Anthem Medicare Advantage 3 (HMO-POS), formerly Anthem Medicare Advantage 3 (HMO)
- Anthem Medicare Advantage 4 (HMO-POS), formerly Anthem Medicare Advantage 4 (HMO)

If yours was renamed, you don't have to do anything to stay enrolled — but you should still read the ANOC, because 22 continuing plans also show a change on premium, deductible, plan type or name in CMS's file.
What to do, depending on your situation
If your plan is leaving. You have two enrollment windows. The Annual Enrollment Period (Oct. 15 – Dec. 7) lets you pick any 2027 plan for a Jan. 1 start. If you don't act by Dec. 7, a Special Enrollment Period for non-renewed members runs through the end of February 2027 — enough time to pick a new Medicare Advantage plan or return to Original Medicare and add a stand-alone Part D drug plan.
If your plan is renamed. No action is required to stay enrolled. Update your records with the new plan name so pharmacy and provider paperwork lines up.
If your plan is continuing but the file flags a change. Read the ANOC that arrived in September. It spells out any change to premium, deductible, plan type or name for the coming year. If the plan still fits, do nothing. If not, use AEP (Oct. 15 – Dec. 7) to switch.
If your plan is unchanged. You can still shop. AEP is the main window; Jan. 1 – Mar. 31 is the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period, when current MA members can make one change.
Program facts worth knowing while you compare
These apply to everyone, regardless of which plan you land on:

- The coverage gap ("donut hole") is gone as of 2025; Part D now has three phases.
- The Medicare Prescription Payment Plan lets you spread drug costs across the year in monthly amounts, at no extra charge.
- IRMAA surcharges for higher-income enrollees begin above $109,000 in income for a single filer in 2026.
