2027 plan lineupMount Lebanon, PA

Key takeaways

  • Nine Medicare Advantage plans are leaving the Allegheny County market after 2026, and anyone enrolled in one gets a Special Enrollment Period to pick a new plan.
  • Eight plans are new for 2027, and eleven returning plans have been renamed — so the plan on your card may read differently in January.
  • The deadline to switch for January 1, 2027 coverage is December 7, 2026; doing nothing simply renews your current plan if it is still offered.
  • Confirmed 2027 Part D figures: a $2,400 out-of-pocket cap and a $700 maximum deductible, both up from 2026.

MOUNT LEBANON, Pa. — As Annual Enrollment opens for 2027 Medicare Advantage coverage, the lineup available to residents here is shifting in some real ways. In Allegheny County, which sets the plan choices for Mount Lebanon, nine Medicare Advantage plans are leaving after 2026, eight new plans are joining for 2027, and eleven plans are returning under new names. Sixteen carriers will still be in the market.

The Annual Enrollment Period runs October 15 through December 7, 2026, and any choice you make takes effect January 1, 2027. If you do nothing, your current plan renews for next year — as long as it is still being offered — with whatever changes are listed in the Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) your insurer mailed you in late September.

How Mount Lebanon's 2027 lineup shapes up

Mount Lebanon is in Allegheny County, where Medicare Advantage availability is set at the county level. For plan year 2026, the county has 96 Medicare Advantage plans from 16 carriers, including 40 HMOs, 19 HMO-POS plans, 36 PPOs, and 1 PFFS plan. Of those, 33 are Special Needs Plans (for people who are dual-eligible for Medicaid, have certain chronic conditions, or live in an institutional setting), and all 96 include prescription drug coverage.

For 2027, CMS filings show 76 plans continuing, 8 new plans arriving, 9 plans not returning, and 11 plans keeping the same contract but with a new name. Separately, about 35 continuing plans show a change to their premium, deductible, plan type, or name — so even if your plan is on the "continuing" list, your ANOC is worth reading.

The table below lists every 2026 plan available in the county, by carrier and plan type. We can't share premiums, copays, networks or star ratings here — those live in the Medicare Plan Finder at medicare.gov and in each plan's own documents.

Plans not returning after 2026

Nine Medicare Advantage plans sold in Allegheny County this year will not be offered in 2027:

If your current plan is on this list, your insurer is required to mail you a non-renewal notice. You also get a Special Enrollment Period that runs December 8, 2026 through February 28, 2027 to pick a new Medicare Advantage plan or go back to Original Medicare and add a stand-alone Part D plan. If you do nothing, you will generally be dropped back to Original Medicare on January 1, 2027 — without drug coverage — so this is not a notice to set aside.

(Two of these plan names — Provider Partners Pennsylvania Community Plan and Provider Partners Pennsylvania Essential Plan, plus UPMC for Life PPO Rx Choice and UPMC for Life Complete Care — also appear on the "new for 2027" list. In CMS filings, that pattern usually means the plan is being refiled under a new contract rather than truly discontinued, but current enrollees should still read the notice carefully, because the terms can change.)

Plans new for 2027

Eight Medicare Advantage plans are new to Allegheny County for 2027:

Several of these are Special Needs Plans — D-SNPs for people with both Medicare and Medicaid, C-SNPs for people with specific chronic conditions, and I-SNPs for people in long-term care settings. SNPs have eligibility rules, so not everyone can enroll.

Plans with a new name for 2027

Eleven plans are returning under a different name. If you see a plan in your paperwork you don't recognize, it may be one of these:

A name change by itself doesn't mean anything about the plan is worse or better. The ANOC is where the specifics live.

How to work through this before December 7

A simple way to approach the next few weeks:

1. Find your ANOC. Your current insurer mailed it in late September. It spells out what is changing on your plan for 2027 — premium, deductible, copays, drug tier placement, and network updates. 2. Check your drugs. Pull up each prescription in the Medicare Plan Finder (medicare.gov/plan-compare) with your 2027 drug list. Formulary placement can change year to year. 3. Check your doctors and hospitals. Networks also change. UPMC and Allegheny Health Network affiliations matter a lot in this corner of the county, so confirm the providers you use are in-network for whatever plan you're considering. 4. Watch the two Part D figures that are set for 2027. The out-of-pocket cap on covered Part D drugs is $2,400 (up from $2,100 in 2026).

By the numbers

Medicare Part B premium, 2006–2026

The standard monthly Part B premium has climbed from $88.50 in 2006 to $202.90 in 2026. Hover any point for that year’s premium.
