Arlington, Texas — Medicare's fall enrollment window is here, and the plan lineup that Arlington residents will choose from for 2027 looks different from what they had this year. According to the latest CMS Medicare Advantage Landscape files for Tarrant County, 28 plans are leaving after 2026, 22 new plans are joining for 2027, and 10 plans are keeping the same basic footprint but changing names. Another 22 plans are continuing but have at least one change on file — such as premium, deductible, plan type or name — that members will see spelled out in their Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) letters this month.

Key takeaways

  • Arlington is in Tarrant County, where 28 Medicare Advantage plans will not be offered in 2027, 22 new plans are joining, and 10 are being renamed.
  • If your plan is not being renewed, you get a Special Enrollment Period that runs through the end of February 2027 to pick a new plan or return to Original Medicare.
  • The Annual Enrollment Period (Oct. 15 – Dec. 7) is when most people make changes; the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period runs Jan. 1 – March 31.
  • Read your ANOC — even "continuing" plans can have changes to premium, deductible, plan type or name that CMS flags but does not detail in the landscape file.

If you live in Arlington and get a letter that your plan is going away, you do not have to panic. You do have to act.

What's actually changing in Tarrant County

The county-level numbers tell most of the story. For 2027, 51 Medicare Advantage plans are simply continuing, 22 are new, 10 have new names, and 28 are leaving. One carrier — American Health Advantage of Texas — will not offer plans in the county next year. One carrier is new to the county: Verda Health Plan of Texas.

Everything below is drawn straight from the CMS Landscape Source Files comparing 2026 to 2027. The full plan-by-plan table appears further down this page; the prose here highlights the changes, not every plan on the market.

Plans leaving after 2026

If you are enrolled in one of these plans, your carrier will send you a non-renewal notice. Plans not returning to Tarrant County for 2027 include:

If your plan is on this list, keep the letter. It is your proof that you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period.

Plans that are new for 2027

Twenty-two plans are joining the county for the coming year. That includes the arrival of Verda Health Plan of Texas, which is offering Verda Noble Care (HMO) and Verda Noble Chronic Care (HMO C-SNP) here for the first time.

Other new options come from carriers already in the market, including Aetna Medicare Enhanced Extra (PPO), Aetna Medicare QMB Only Care (HMO D-SNP), Aetna Medicare Signature (HMO), HealthSpring TotalCare Plus (HMO D-SNP) from Blue Cross Blue Shield (HCSC), Wellcare Superior HealthPlan Dual Liberty (HMO D-SNP), Wellcare Superior HealthPlan Dual Reserve Value (HMO D-SNP), several new Wellpoint plans from Elevance Health, several new Humana plans (including Humana DaVita Kidney Care (PPO C-SNP), Humana Gold Plus - Diabetes and Heart (HMO C-SNP), Humana Together in Health (PPO I-SNP), and Humana Value Choice (PPO)), and four new UnitedHealthcare D-SNPs: UHC Dual Advantage TX-V11, UHC Dual Complete TX-Q6, UHC Dual Complete TX-S6, and UHC Dual Complete TX-YL2 (all HMO-POS D-SNP).

New does not mean better or worse. It just means the plan did not exist here in 2026. Compare it the same way you would any other option.

Plans that were renamed

Ten plans are keeping their footing in the market but showing up under a new name on the CMS list. If you see a slightly different name on your ANOC, do not assume it is a different plan:

Even a "just renamed" plan can have other things changing under the hood. Read the ANOC.

What a member should do this fall

Whether your plan is leaving, being renamed, or continuing with a change on file, the steps are the same.

1. Read the ANOC. Your plan mails an Annual Notice of Change each September. It spells out what is different for next year — the premium, deductible, drug list, pharmacy network, provider network and extra benefits. 2. Check your doctors and drugs. Log into medicare.gov's Plan Finder and enter your prescriptions and preferred pharmacies. This is the single most useful step for most people. 3. Note the deadlines. The Annual Enrollment Period runs Oct. 15 through Dec. 7 for a Jan. 1 start. The Medic
