SEATTLE — If you have a Medicare Advantage plan in Seattle, this fall's mail is worth opening carefully. According to CMS's 2026 and 2027 Medicare Advantage Landscape files, 27 Medicare Advantage plans offered in King County this year will not be back in 2027, 18 new plans are coming in, and 10 more are keeping the same coverage but changing their name. A new carrier, Devoted Health, is also entering the county.

Key takeaways

  • In King County, which includes Seattle, 27 Medicare Advantage plans are leaving after 2026, 18 new plans are launching for 2027, and 10 are being renamed.
  • If your plan is not renewing, you get a Special Enrollment Period that runs through the end of February 2027 to pick a new Medicare Advantage or Part D plan, or return to Original Medicare.
  • The Annual Enrollment Period runs October 15 through December 7; changes you make during that window take effect January 1, 2027.
  • Read the Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) your plan mailed in late September — it lists exactly how your specific plan is changing.

For Seattle residents, that means some plan cards will disappear, some familiar names will look different, and one national carrier will be on the shelf here for the first time. Here is what the CMS data shows and what you can do about it before the Annual Enrollment Period closes on December 7.

What is changing in King County for 2027

CMS's year-over-year Landscape comparison for King County shows:

The table below lists every 2026 plan sold in King County, so you can confirm whether your current plan appears.

Plans that will not be back in 2027

Twenty-seven Medicare Advantage plans offered in King County this year are being discontinued after December 31, 2026. Among them are plans from Aetna (CVS Health), Centene (WellCare), Elevance Health (Anthem), Humana, Molina Healthcare of Washington, Regence BlueShield, and UnitedHealthcare.

Specifically, the plans leaving include Aetna Medicare Signature Advantage (HMO); the WellCare plans Wellcare Dual Access Open (PPO D-SNP), Wellcare Dual Liberty Sync Open (PPO D-SNP), Wellcare Dual Reserve (HMO-POS D-SNP), Wellcare Giveback (HMO-POS), Wellcare Patriot Giveback Open (PPO), and Wellcare Simple (HMO-POS); Wellpoint Dual Advantage (HMO D-SNP) and Wellpoint Full Dual Advantage (HMO D-SNP) from Elevance Health; several Humana plans, including Humana Gold Plus H5619-059 (HMO), Humana Gold Plus SNP-DE H1036-324 (HMO D-SNP), Humana Gold Plus SNP-DE H5619-167 (HMO D-SNP), Humana Together in Health (PPO I-SNP), HumanaChoice H5216-426 (PPO), and HumanaChoice H7617-019 (PPO); Molina Medicare Complete Care Select (HMO D-SNP); Regence MedAdvantage + Rx Primary (PPO); and a group of UnitedHealthcare plans, including AARP Medicare Advantage Access from UHC WA-11 (PPO), AARP Medicare Advantage from UHC WA-0002 (PPO), AARP Medicare Advantage from UHC WA-0004 (PPO), AARP Medicare Advantage from UHC WA-0010 (HMO-POS), AARP Medicare Advantage from UHC WA-12 (PPO), AARP Medicare Advantage from UHC WA-16 (PPO), AARP Medicare Advantage Patriot No Rx WA-MA01 (PPO), UHC Complete Care WA-13 (HMO-POS C-SNP), UHC Dual Complete WA-S5 (PPO D-SNP), and UHC Dual Complete WA-S6 (HMO-POS D-SNP).

If your plan is on that list, your insurer is required to send you a non-renewal notice. That notice triggers a Special Enrollment Period.

Plans that are new for 2027

Eighteen Medicare Advantage plans are launching in King County for 2027. That includes two from Aetna (CVS Health) — Aetna Medicare Chronic Care (HMO C-SNP) and Aetna Medicare Eagle (HMO); six new plans from Devoted Health, the new carrier in the county: DEVOTED C-SNP ENHANCED 003 WA (HMO C-SNP), DEVOTED C-SNP GIVEBACK EXTRAS 004 WA (HMO C-SNP), DEVOTED C-SNP PLUS 005 WA (HMO C-SNP), DEVOTED CORE 001 WA (HMO), DEVOTED GIVEBACK 002 WA (HMO), and DEVOTED GIVEBACK EXTRAS 022 WA (HMO); three from Elevance Health (Anthem) — Wellpoint Dual Advantage (HMO D-SNP), Wellpoint Dual Advantage Plus (HMO D-SNP), and Wellpoint Full Dual Advantage (HMO D-SNP); Molina Medicare Elect (HMO D-SNP) from Molina; Regence BlueAdvantage HMO (HMO) from Regence BlueShield; and, from UnitedHealthcare, AARP Medicare Advantage from UHC WA-18 (PPO), AARP Medicare Advantage Patriot No Rx WA-MA02 (HMO-POS), AARP Medicare Advantage Patriot No RX WA-MA3 (PPO), UHC Complete Care Support WA-1A (HMO-POS C-SNP), and UHC Complete Care Support WA-3A (HMO-POS C-SNP).

A new plan is not the same thing as a renamed plan — it is a different contract, which may use a different provider network and pharmacy list.

Plans that are only being renamed

Ten plans in King County are keeping the same underlying contract but showing up under a new name in 2027. If you see one of these, this is a name change — not a plan you need to replace:

Even so, benefits and costs can shift when a plan is renamed. That is what the ANOC is for.
