CHANDLER, Ariz. — As the Annual Enrollment Period runs from Oct. 15 to Dec. 7, Medicare Advantage members in Chandler are getting notices about what their plan will look like in 2027. The federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has published its 2027 plan lineup, and the picture in Maricopa County — where Chandler sits — includes 13 plans leaving after 2026, 17 new plans, and 13 that are being renamed.

Key takeaways

  • In Maricopa County, 13 Medicare Advantage plans are not returning for 2027, 17 are new, and 13 have been renamed.
  • If your plan is leaving, you get a Special Enrollment Period that runs through the end of February to pick a new plan.
  • The Annual Enrollment Period ends Dec. 7 — that is the main window to compare plans and make changes for Jan. 1.
  • Read your Annual Notice of Change (ANOC); 20 continuing plans have a change to premium, deductible, type or name that only that document spells out.

If you got a letter this fall that mentions a change, you are not alone. Here is what is moving, and what to do about it before the deadline.

Which plans are leaving Chandler after 2026

Because Chandler is in Maricopa County, the plans sold locally follow CMS's county-level list. Thirteen Medicare Advantage plans offered in 2026 will not be renewed for 2027:

If your card shows one of these plans, your carrier is required to send you a non-renewal notice. You will not lose Medicare — only that specific plan is going away.

New plans coming to the area for 2027

Seventeen Medicare Advantage plans are new in Maricopa County for 2027, spread across several carriers already in the market. In alphabetical order by carrier, they include:

The table on this page lists every plan available in the county alongside carrier and plan type.

Plans that were renamed (same plan, new name)

Thirteen plans continue into 2027 with a different name. A rename does not automatically mean the benefits are the same or different — only the ANOC will tell you that. Renames include:

If your ID card changes but the carrier stays the same, this is why.

What to do if your plan is leaving

Two things are true at once: you have time, and the calendar still matters.

1. Read the letter. By law, your plan must tell you in writing that it is not being renewed. 2. Use the Annual Enrollment Period (Oct. 15 – Dec. 7). This is when you can pick any Medicare Advantage or Part D plan for coverage starting Jan. 1, 2027. 3. If you miss AEP, use the Special Enrollment Period. When a plan is not renewed, CMS gives affected members an SEP that runs through the end of February to choose a new Medicare Advantage plan or return to Original Medicare with a stand-alone Part D plan. 4. Consider Medigap timing. Moving back to Original Medicare may involve medical underwriting for a Medigap policy outside your original open enrollment window; Arizona rules apply, so ask your local SHIP.

If your plan is continuing — read the ANOC anyway

Sixty-two plans in the county are continuing, and among those, CMS's files show 20 have some change to premium, deductible, plan type or name. That does not mean anything bad — but it does mean the details for 2027 may not match what you had this year. The Annual Notice of Change your carrier mailed in September lays out exactly what is different for your plan.

A quick note on 2026 Part D rules that still apply

Whether your plan changes or not, these federal rules are in place for the coming year:

By the numbers

Medicare Part B premium, 2006–2026

The standard monthly Part B premium has climbed from $88.50 in 2006 to $202.90 in 2026. Hover any point for that year’s premium.

“Changing” means the plan’s 2027 record differs from 2026 on premium, drug deductible, plan type or name; the details are in the Annual Notice of Change your plan mails by September 30. If your plan is not offered for 2027, you can choose another during the Annual Enrollment Period (October 15 to December 7) and you also get a Special Enrollment Period that runs through the end of February. Good to know

Frequently asked questions

What happens if I do nothing and my plan is leaving?
If your Medicare Advantage plan is not renewed and you do not choose another one, you generally return to Original Medicare (Parts A and B) on Jan. 1. You would not have Part D drug coverage unless you sign up for a stand-alone Part D plan or enroll in a new Medicare Advantage plan during AEP or your Special Enrollment Period, which runs through the end of February.
My plan has a new name for 2027 — is it a different plan?
Not necessarily. A rename can be a marketing change, or it can come with adjustments to costs or benefits. The only way to know for sure is to read the Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) your carrier sent, or call the plan directly.
Can I change plans after Dec. 7?
Yes, in some cases. The Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period runs Jan. 1 – March 31 and lets people already in a Medicare Advantage plan switch to another Medicare Advantage plan or go back to Original Medicare once. And if your plan was non-renewed, you have a Special Enrollment Period through the end of February.
