For Medicare Advantage members in Peoria, Arizona, the 2027 plan year brings a real shuffle. According to the CMS Medicare Advantage Landscape Source Files, 13 plans offered in Maricopa County this year will not be back next year, 17 new plans are coming in, and 13 more are keeping the same underlying contract but changing names. If you take one action this fall, make it opening your mail from your plan — the Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) tells you exactly where you stand.

Key takeaways

  • In Maricopa County, 13 Medicare Advantage plans are leaving after 2026 and 17 new plans arrive for 2027, based on the CMS Landscape files.
  • If your plan is not being renewed, you get a Special Enrollment Period that runs through the end of February to pick a new plan.
  • The Annual Enrollment Period runs October 15 through December 7 — that is when most members should compare and switch if needed.
  • A renamed plan is not automatically a changed plan; check the ANOC before assuming your coverage is the same or different.

What "leaving," "new" and "renamed" actually mean

Peoria is in Maricopa County, where Medicare Advantage availability is set. Each fall, CMS publishes a Landscape file showing which plans are offered in each county for the coming year. Comparing 2026 to 2027 shows three kinds of changes that matter to members:

Separately, CMS's data shows 20 continuing plans in Maricopa County have at least one change on premium, deductible, plan type or name for 2027. That's a signal to read your ANOC, not a signal that anything specific went up or down.

Plans leaving Maricopa County after 2026

Thirteen plans available to Peoria residents in 2026 will not be offered in 2027. If you are enrolled in one of these, you will get a non-renewal letter from your carrier, and you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period.

Note that some carrier names above also show up in the "new" list. That is common: a carrier can retire one plan and file another under a similar or identical name for the new year. They are still different plans in CMS's system.

New Medicare Advantage plans for 2027

Seventeen new plans are entering Maricopa County for 2027. They will appear on the Medicare Plan Finder at medicare.gov during the Annual Enrollment Period.

The full 2026 roster of every plan currently available in the county is listed in the table on this page — that's the starting point if you want to see who your neighbors have to choose from now, before 2027 changes take effect.

Plans that were renamed (same contract, new label)

Thirteen plans are keeping the same underlying contract but changing what they are called. If your plan is on this list, you may not need to switch, but you should still read the ANOC that arrives from your carrier.

What to do, step by step

1. Open your mail. Every current member gets an ANOC by the end of September. It lists every change to your plan for the coming year — premium, deductible, drug tier, network, extras. Nothing in this article replaces reading yours.

2. Check whether your plan is on the leaving list. If it is, your carrier will also send a separate non-renewal notice. You have two options:

“Changing” means the plan’s 2027 record differs from 2026 on premium, drug deductible, plan type or name; the details are in the Annual Notice of Change your plan mails by September 30. If your plan is not offered for 2027, you can choose another during the Annual Enrollment Period (October 15 to December 7) and you also get a Special Enrollment Period that runs through the end of February.
