Which Anthem Medicare Advantage plans are offered in Port St. Lucie for 2027?
Port St. Lucie is in St. Lucie County, where Anthem (CMS lists the parent company as Elevance Health) offers 12 Medicare Advantage plans for 2027. All 12 are HMOs. Nine are Special Needs Plans — four Dual Eligible SNPs (D-SNP) for people with both Medicare and Medicaid, and five Chronic Condition SNPs (C-SNP), including two aimed at people living with COPD. Eleven of the 12 plans include Part D prescription drug coverage; one does not.
The table on this page lists every Anthem plan available in the county for 2027, with its type and whether it includes drug coverage. The plans carry the Freedom, Optimum and Simply names you may already recognize from the Anthem family.
What is new or not returning from Anthem for 2027?
Four Anthem plans are new for 2027 in St. Lucie County: Optimum Diamond Savings (HMO C-SNP), Optimum Diamond Savings COPD (HMO C-SNP), Simply Complete Platinum (HMO D-SNP) and Simply Integrated Platinum (HMO D-SNP). All four include drug coverage.
Six Anthem plans offered in 2026 are not returning for 2027. If you are in one of those plans, Anthem will send a non-renewal notice this fall explaining your options; you have a Special Enrollment Period to pick another plan. If you are in a plan that is returning, your Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) spells out any 2027 changes to premiums, copays, the drug list and the provider network. The ANOC is the single most useful document to read this season.
What does the Anthem lineup look like by plan type?
All 12 Anthem Medicare Advantage plans in St. Lucie County for 2027 are HMOs, which generally means you pick an in-network primary care doctor and get referrals for specialists. There are no PPO plans in Anthem's 2027 county lineup.
Of those 12 plans:
- 3 are standard HMOs open to anyone with Medicare in the service area.
- 4 are Dual Eligible SNPs (D-SNP) for people enrolled in both Medicare and Medicaid.
- 5 are Chronic Condition SNPs (C-SNP) built for people with qualifying chronic conditions; two are specific to COPD.
Special Needs Plans have enrollment rules. You generally have to meet the eligibility (dual-eligible status, or a doctor-verified qualifying chronic condition) to join and stay enrolled.
How do I check an Anthem plan against my doctors and prescriptions before December 7?
Before you enroll, confirm two things for 2027: that your doctors and hospitals are in the plan's network, and that your prescriptions are on its formulary at a tier you can afford. The quickest way is the Medicare Plan Finder at medicare.gov. Enter your ZIP code and your drug list, and the tool shows each plan's estimated yearly cost for your medications, pharmacy options and a link to the provider directory.
Two more steps worth taking:
- Call your doctor's office and ask specifically whether they will accept the exact 2027 Anthem plan you are considering. Networks can change year to year.
- Call Anthem's member services number on the plan page to confirm your prescriptions and preferred pharmacy.
If you prefer the phone, 1-800-MEDICARE (TTY 1-877-486-2048) is open 24/7 and can walk you through plans in your ZIP code.
What is changing in Medicare itself for 2027?
A few program-level numbers are already set for 2027. The Part D out-of-pocket cap rises to $2,400 in 2027 (it is $2,100 in 2026). The Part D maximum deductible rises to $700 in 2027 (from $615 in 2026). The Part D national base beneficiary premium for 2027 is $41.33; that is a formula input used across the program, not what any specific plan charges.
The 2027 Part B standard premium and deductible, and the 2027 IRMAA income brackets, have not been announced yet. CMS typically publishes them in the fall, usually in November. The Medicare Prescription Payment Plan — which lets you spread your out-of-pocket drug costs across the calendar year in monthly installments — continues for 2027.
What happens if I do nothing by December 7, 2026?
If your plan is returning for 2027 and you take no action by December 7, 2026, you stay in it. The 2027 version — with whatever changes are listed in your ANOC — begins January 1, 2027. If your Anthem plan is one of the six not returning, you need to pick another plan during Annual Enrollment or during the Special Enrollment Period that comes with a plan non-renewal, or you will fall back to Original Medicare without a Part D drug plan.
Even if you are happy, it is worth a 15-minute check: pull up your ANOC, confirm your drugs and your doctors on the Plan Finder, and decide.
