Henderson, Nev. — As the fall enrollment window opens, Medicare Advantage members in Henderson are getting mail that can be easy to misread. Some plans sold in Clark County this year will not be back in 2027, a handful of new plans are coming in, and more than a dozen are being renamed. If your plan is among them, the letter in your mailbox — the Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) — is the document that spells out what is happening to your coverage.

Key takeaways

  • In Clark County, 11 Medicare Advantage plans are leaving after 2026, 9 are new for 2027, and 15 are being renamed.
  • Kaiser Permanente and Molina Healthcare of Nevada will not offer Medicare Advantage plans in the county next year.
  • If your plan is not renewed, you get a Special Enrollment Period that runs through the end of February to pick a new plan.
  • The Annual Enrollment Period runs Oct. 15 through Dec. 7; changes made then take effect Jan. 1, 2027.

Henderson is in Clark County, and Medicare Advantage availability is set at the county level. Here is what the CMS Landscape files show for the county from 2026 to 2027, and what a member should do next.

What is changing in Clark County for 2027

CMS's year-over-year comparison shows a mix of exits, arrivals and name changes for the county that includes Henderson:

Two carriers are stepping out of the local Medicare Advantage market: Kaiser Permanente and Molina Healthcare of Nevada. If you are enrolled with either one, your plan will not be there next year, and you will need to make a choice.

Plans that are leaving after 2026

If you are in one of the plans below, your coverage ends Dec. 31, 2026. You will get a "non-renewal" notice from your plan, and Original Medicare picks you up on Jan. 1 unless you enroll in something else.

Plans that are new for 2027

These plans are being added to the Clark County lineup for the coming year:

Renamed plans — same plan, new name

Fifteen plans are keeping their footprint but showing up under a new name. This one trips people up: if you don't recognize the plan name on your ANOC or your new ID card, check whether it's a rename before you assume you've been moved. A few examples: the plan formerly called Aetna Medicare Dual Prime (HMO D-SNP) is now Aetna Medicare Partial Dual (HMO D-SNP); Wellcare Dual Access (HMO-POS D-SNP) is now Wellcare SilverSummit Healthplan Dual Liberty (HMO-POS D-SNP); and UHC Dual Complete NV-S001 (HMO-POS D-SNP) is now UHC Dual Complete NV-Q1 (HMO-POS D-SNP). The full list of renames is in the table below.

Several Alignment Health plans and other Aetna plans have also been renamed. The plan itself continues; only the label changed.

What a member should do about it

Take these steps in order.

1. Open the ANOC. Every Medicare Advantage plan mails an Annual Notice of Change by late September. It tells you exactly what is changing — including the premium, deductible, plan type or plan name — for 2027. If your plan appears in the "changing" bucket, the ANOC is where you find out what changed. 2. If your plan is leaving, act during the SEP. When a plan is not renewed, CMS gives affected members a Special Enrollment Period that runs from Dec. 8 through the end of February. You can pick a new Medicare Advantage plan or return to Original Medicare (and add a stand-alone Part D plan) during that window. 3. If you want to switch by choice, use AEP. The Annual Enrollment Period is Oct. 15 through Dec. 7. Any change you make there takes effect Jan. 1, 2027. 4. Still not sure after Jan. 1? The Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period runs Jan. 1 through March 31. If you are already in a Medicare Advantage plan, you can switch to another one or drop back to Original Medicare once during that period.

Before you pick, check three things on any plan you're considering: your doctors and hospitals are in-network, your prescriptions are on the drug list, and any specialty care you use is covered the way you need. The full 2027 lineup for Clark County — 57 Medicare Advantage plans from 10 carriers — is in the table below.

Frequently asked questions

My plan is on the "leaving" list. Will I automatically be enrolled in another plan?
Not usually. When a Medicare Advantage plan is non-renewed, you return to Original Medicare on Jan. 1 unless you actively enroll in a new plan. Use the Special Enrollment Period (Dec. 8 through the end of February) or make a choice during the Annual Enrollment Period by Dec. 7 to keep continuous Medicare Advantage coverage.
My plan name changed but I like my coverage. Do I need to do anything?
Probably not, but read the ANOC anyway. A renamed plan may also have changes to premium, deductible or benefits. Confirm your doctors and drugs are still covered for 2027 before you decide to stay put.
Kaiser Permanente is exiting. What are my options?
If you are enrolled in one of the two Senior Care Plus plans offered through Kaiser Permanente in the county, your coverage ends Dec. 31, 2026. You can pick any other Medicare Advantage plan available in Clark County, or return to Original Medicare and add a stand-alone Part D plan. The plan-leaving SEP gives you until the end of February to choose.
