If you live in North Las Vegas and you are shopping for Medicare Advantage for 2027, the choices you can pick from are set by the county you live in — not the city. North Las Vegas sits inside Clark County, and Clark County is one of the larger Medicare Advantage markets in the country. For plan year 2027, 10 carriers are offering Medicare Advantage plans there, and the full carrier-by-carrier list appears in the table below.
Key takeaways
- Clark County, which includes North Las Vegas, has 57 Medicare Advantage plans available for 2027 from 10 different carriers.
- Every one of those 74 plans includes Part D drug coverage, so a stand-alone drug plan is not required if you enroll in one.
- The mix is 38 HMO plans, 21 HMO-POS plans and 15 PPO plans, and 34 of the 74 are Special Needs Plans (SNPs) for people who qualify.
- Fall Annual Enrollment runs Oct. 15 through Dec. 7, and Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment runs Jan. 1 through March 31.
This article walks through who is selling what, how the plan types differ, and how to line the list up against your own doctors, drugs and budget. We won't tell you which plan is "best" — that depends on you — but we will point you to the official tools that will.
What "available in North Las Vegas" really means
Medicare Advantage plans are approved and sold at the county level. North Las Vegas is in Clark County, so the plans you can enroll in are the plans CMS has approved for Clark County residents. Someone across the state line, or even in a neighboring Nevada county, may see a different list.
The numbers in this article come from the CMS Medicare Advantage Landscape Source File for plan year 2027. It is the same public data that feeds the official Medicare Plan Finder at medicare.gov.

- Alignment Health Plan — 6 plans (HMO; 3 Special Needs)
- Blue Cross Blue Shield (HCSC) — 2 plans (HMO, HMO-POS)
- Centene (WellCare) — 3 plans (HMO-POS; 2 Special Needs)
- Champion Health Plan — 7 plans (HMO, HMO-POS; 6 Special Needs)

- Select Health — 4 plans (HMO; 1 Special Needs)
- UnitedHealthcare — 14 plans (HMO-POS, PPO; 6 Special Needs)
The table on this page lists every individual plan by carrier, with its plan type and a note that it includes drug coverage. Use it as your starting map, then go into Plan Finder for the details that decide the choice — the monthly premium, the deductible, the drug list, the doctor and hospital network, and the extra benefits.
How the plan types differ
You will see three plan types on the North Las Vegas list. It helps to know what the letters mean before you scroll.
- HMO (Health Maintenance Organization). You generally pick a primary care doctor and stay in the plan's network. Referrals are common. Most Clark County plans are HMOs — 38 of the 74.
- HMO-POS (Point of Service). Like an HMO, but with a "point of service" option that lets you go out of network for certain services, usually at a higher cost. Plans of this type on the 2027 list include ones from Blue Cross Blue Shield (HCSC), Centene (WellCare), Elevance Health (Anthem) and UnitedHealthcare.
- PPO (Preferred Provider Organization). More flexibility to see out-of-network providers, though in-network is still cheaper. There are 15 PPOs on the list, from carriers such as Aetna, Humana and UnitedHealthcare.
None of these types is automatically better. The right one depends on which doctors you want to keep seeing and how much flexibility matters to you.
Special Needs Plans, and who they are for
Thirty-four of the 74 plans in Clark County are Special Needs Plans, or SNPs. These are Medicare Advantage plans built for a specific group of people, and you have to qualify to enroll.
- D-SNPs are for people who have both Medicare and Medicaid. Examples on the 2027 list include Aetna Medicare Dual Prime (HMO D-SNP), Alignment Health the ONE (HMO D-SNP), Anthem Full Dual Advantage (HMO D-SNP), Humana Gold Plus SNP-DE H6622-079 (HMO D-SNP), Select Health Medicare Dual (HMO D-SNP) and UHC Dual Complete NV-S001 (HMO-POS D-SNP).
- C-SNPs are for people with certain chronic conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, chronic lung disease or kidney disease. Examples include Aetna Medicare Chronic Care (HMO C-SNP), Champion Care (HMO C-SNP), SCAN Balance (HMO C-SNP) and Anthem I CareMore Kidney Care (HMO-POS C-SNP).
- I-SNPs are for people who live in an institution such as a nursing home, or who need that level of care at home. Anthem I CareMore Home Care (HMO I-SNP) is the one on the 2027 list.
If you do not fit one of those buckets, a SNP is not the right choice — even if the name sounds appealing.
Drug coverage is built in
Every one of the 57 Medicare Advantage plans available in Clark County for 2027 includes Part D prescription drug coverage. That is worth noting because Clark County has no stand-alone Part D plans that are separate from Medicare Advantage in this file — if you enroll in one of these plans, your drug coverage comes with it.
A few program-level Part D facts to keep in mind for 2027:
- The Part D out-of-pocket cap is $2,100 in 2026 ($2,400 in 2027) for the year.
- The Part D maximum deductible is $615 in 2026 ($700 in 2027).
- The old coverage gap ("donut hole") is gone as of 2025. Part D now has three phases.
- The Medicare Prescription Payment Plan lets you spread your drug costs across the year in monthly payments if that helps your budget.
Each plan has its own formulary (drug list) and its own copay tiers, so use the Plan Finder to check that your specific prescriptions are covered before you enroll.
How to narrow the list
With 74 plans to look through, a little structure helps.
1. Start with your doctors and hospitals. Ask each one which Medicare Advantage plans they take for 2027. That alone will cross a lot of names off the list. 2. Add your prescriptions. On medicare.gov, plug in your drugs and your preferred pharmacy. Plan Finder will show your estimated yearly drug cost under each plan. 3. Pick a plan type you can live with. HMO for lower cost and a tighter network, PPO for more flexibility, HMO-POS for something in between. 4. Check whether you qualify for a SNP. If you are on both Medicare and Medicaid, or you have a qualifying chronic condition, a D-SNP or C-SNP may be worth a closer look. 5. Compare the whole picture, not just the premium. Deductibles, copays, out-of-pocket maximums and extra benefits all matter.
The table below lists every plan by carrier. Use it as your checklist as you work through Plan Finder.
