OKLAHOMA CITY — This fall's Medicare Advantage shopping season looks different in Oklahoma County than it did a year ago. Nine plans that were sold here in 2026 will not be back in 2027, eight new plans are joining the lineup, and seven are keeping their coverage but changing names. One carrier, Centene (WellCare), is exiting the county entirely.

Key takeaways

  • Nine Medicare Advantage plans are leaving Oklahoma County after 2026, and Centene (WellCare) will not sell plans here in 2027.
  • Eight new plans are joining the market for 2027, and seven plans are keeping the same coverage under a new name.
  • If your plan is not renewed, you get a Special Enrollment Period that runs through Feb. 28, 2027 — on top of the regular Annual Enrollment Period (Oct. 15 – Dec. 7).
  • Read your Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) that arrived in September; 17 plans in the county have a change to premium, deductible, plan type or name that only the ANOC will spell out.

If you are enrolled in one of the plans that is going away, you do not have to make a decision blind — and you have more time than the regular deadline to act. Here is what is changing and what to do about it.

What is changing in Oklahoma County for 2027

Medicare Advantage plans are approved at the county level, so this is really an Oklahoma County story — but that covers Oklahoma City and its neighbors. For 2027, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) landscape file shows:

The table on this page lists every plan available in the county for the coming year.

The plans that will not be back in 2027

If you are in one of these plans, your coverage ends Dec. 31, 2026, and you will need to pick something else. In alphabetical order by carrier, the plans leaving Oklahoma County are:

Centene (WellCare) is not offering Medicare Advantage plans in Oklahoma County next year at all. Blue Cross Blue Shield (HCSC) is dropping four plans in the county but is not leaving — it is bringing in a new HMO called HealthSpring Preferred (HMO).

If your plan is on this list, CMS should have already mailed you a non-renewal notice.

The plans that are new for 2027

Eight plans are joining the Oklahoma County lineup:

A few of these are Special Needs Plans — D-SNPs for people who also have Medicaid, and C-SNPs for people with certain chronic conditions. Those are not open to everyone; you have to meet the eligibility rules.

The plans that were renamed

Seven plans are keeping their coverage but changing names. If you are enrolled in the "was" plan on the left, you will see the "is now" name on the right this fall:

A name change alone does not require you to do anything. But CMS also flagged 17 plans in the county as changing on premium, deductible, plan type or name — so a renamed plan may also have other changes. Your Annual Notice of Change is the document that spells out exactly what is different for your specific plan.

What you should do, step by step

1. Find your ANOC. It arrived by mail (or your plan's member portal) in September. It tells you what is changing for your plan in 2027 — premium, deductible, drug tiers, network, extras.

2. Check the "leaving" list above. If your plan is on it, your coverage stops Dec. 31, 2026.

3. Know your enrollment windows.

4. Compare on the things that matter to you. Doctors and hospitals in network, the drugs you take, and total yearly cost — not just the premium.

5. Use the official tools. The Medicare Plan Finder at medicare.gov lets you enter your ZIP code and your prescriptions and compare every plan available in Oklahoma County side by side.
