Vancouver, Wash. — If you have a Medicare Advantage plan in Vancouver, this fall's mail is going to look different from a normal year. CMS's newly posted 2027 plan data for Clark County shows a bigger-than-usual reshuffle: three carriers are stepping out of the county entirely, 30 plans are not returning, 11 are brand new, and 13 are simply being renamed. The Annual Enrollment Period runs Oct. 15 through Dec. 7, and any decisions you make now take effect Jan. 1, 2027.

Key takeaways

  • Three carriers — Blue Cross Blue Shield (HCSC), Elevance Health (Anthem) and Providence Medicare Advantage Plans — will not offer Medicare Advantage plans in Clark County for 2027.
  • If your plan is not being renewed, you get a Special Enrollment Period that runs through the end of February 2027, on top of the Oct. 15–Dec. 7 Annual Enrollment Period.
  • Your Annual Notice of Change (ANOC), mailed in September, is the one document that spells out exactly what is changing on your current plan for 2027.
  • A renamed plan is still the same plan; you do not need to re-enroll just because the name on the card is different.

Here is what is changing, plan by plan, and what you should do if your plan is on the "leaving" list.

What's actually changing in Clark County

Vancouver is in Clark County, where Medicare Advantage plan availability is set. For plan year 2026, Clark County has 76 Medicare Advantage plans from 12 carriers. For 2027, CMS's Landscape file shows:

The table on this page lists every plan by carrier. Below are the shifts most likely to affect a Vancouver reader.

Carriers leaving Clark County

Three carriers that sell here in 2026 will not offer Medicare Advantage plans in Clark County in 2027:

If you are enrolled in HealthSpring Preferred (HMO) or HealthSpring True Choice (PPO) through Blue Cross Blue Shield (HCSC); Wellpoint Dual Advantage (HMO D-SNP) or Wellpoint Full Dual Advantage (HMO D-SNP) through Elevance Health (Anthem); or Providence Medicare Extra + Rx, Providence Medicare Focus Medical, Providence Medicare Reverence or Providence Medicare Timber + Rx through Providence, your plan will not exist in 2027 and you will need to choose a new one.

Other plans that are not returning

Beyond the exiting carriers, several plans from carriers that are staying will not be offered here next year, including:

If any of those is your plan today, watch for a formal non-renewal letter this fall.

New plans for 2027

Eleven plans are new to Clark County for 2027:

Chronic Condition SNPs (C-SNPs) and Dual-Eligible SNPs (D-SNPs) are only for people who meet specific medical or Medicaid criteria, so not every reader will qualify for every new plan.

Renamed plans — same plan, new label

Thirteen plans are simply being renamed for 2027. If your plan is on this list, you don't need to do anything just because the name changed:

A rename does not, by itself, tell you whether the premium, deductible or provider network changed — read your ANOC to see the specifics.

Plans that are continuing but changing

CMS's file flags 24 plans as continuing into 2027 with a change on premium, deductible, plan type or name. We won't guess which — your Annual Notice of Change, mailed by late September, is the source of truth for exactly what is different on your plan next year. Read it side by side with your current benefits summary.

What to do if your plan is leaving

You have two enrollment windows working in your favor:

1. Annual Enrollment Period (AEP): Oct. 15 – Dec. 7, 2026. Anyone with Medicare can switch to a different Medicare Advantage plan or move to Original Medicare (with or without a Part D drug plan). Your new coverage starts Jan. 1, 2027. 2. Special Enrollment Period for plan non-renewal. If your plan is not being
