CHANDLER, Ariz. — As Annual Enrollment opens Oct. 15, 2026, the Medicare Advantage menu for Chandler residents is shifting again. In Maricopa County, which sets plan availability for Chandler, 17 Medicare Advantage plans are new for 2027, 13 will not return after Dec. 31, 2026, and 62 continue from this year. How many Medicare Advantage plans are offered in Maricopa County for 2027?
Maricopa County — which includes Chandler — had 88 Medicare Advantage plans from 16 carriers in 2026. For 2027, 13 of those plans are leaving, 17 new plans are being added, 13 are being renamed, and 20 more are changing in some way (such as premium, deductible, type or name). Another 62 are continuing without those listed changes.
The lineup still spans HMO, HMO-POS and PPO plans, and includes Special Needs Plans for people with certain chronic conditions, dual Medicare-Medicaid eligibility, or institutional needs. The full plan-by-plan roster appears in the table on this page.

Which Medicare Advantage plans are not returning after 2026?
Thirteen plans in Maricopa County are leaving after Dec. 31, 2026. By carrier:

If one of these is your current plan, your insurer must send you a non-renewal notice. You can switch during the Annual Enrollment Period, and Medicare also provides a Special Enrollment Period that generally runs from Dec. 8, 2026 through the end of February 2027 for people whose plan is not being offered next year. That window lets you choose another Medicare Advantage plan, or return to Original Medicare and add a stand-alone Part D plan.
What happens if I do nothing before Dec. 7, 2026?
Nothing dramatic. If your plan is continuing, it renews automatically on Jan. 1, 2027 with the changes described in the Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) your insurer mailed in late September. Read the ANOC carefully — premiums, deductibles, drug lists and provider networks can change year to year.
In Maricopa County, 20 continuing plans have some change on file for 2027 (premium, deductible, type or name), and 13 others are being renamed but otherwise continuing. A renamed plan is still the same contract; the ANOC will note the new name.
What's changing in Medicare itself for 2027?
Two Part D figures are confirmed for 2027: the annual out-of-pocket cap on covered drugs rises to $2,400 (up from $2,100 in 2026), and the maximum Part D deductible a plan may charge is $700 (up from $615 in 2026). The Part D national base beneficiary premium used in federal formulas is $41.33 for 2027; it is not what any plan charges.
CMS has not yet announced the 2027 Part B standard premium and deductible, or the 2027 IRMAA income brackets and surcharges. Those figures are typically released later in the fall, usually in November. For 2026, IRMAA surcharges begin above $109,000 in income for a single filer.
The Medicare Prescription Payment Plan, which lets you spread out-of-pocket drug costs across the calendar year in monthly installments, remains available in 2027. The coverage gap ("donut hole") has been gone since 2025; Part D now has three phases.
When can I make changes to my Medicare coverage?
The Annual Enrollment Period for 2027 coverage runs Oct. 15 through Dec. 7, 2026, and any choice you make takes effect Jan. 1, 2027. If you are already in a Medicare Advantage plan on Jan. 1, you have a second window — the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period — from Jan. 1 through March 31, 2027, to switch to another Medicare Advantage plan or return to Original Medicare.
People whose plan is non-renewed, and people in certain other situations (a move, loss of other coverage, dual eligibility), may qualify for a Special Enrollment Period outside those windows.
