17 New Medicare Advantage Plans in Georgia for 2027: The List
ATLANTA — Georgia's Medicare Advantage shelf gets 17 additions for 2027, according to the federal Medicare Advantage Landscape Source Files that CMS releases every fall. Those 17 contracts are part of 161 Medicare Advantage plans listed for Georgians next year, and they come from five carriers: Aetna (CVS Health), Devoted Health, Elevance Health (Anthem), Humana and UnitedHealthcare. Whether any one of them will show up on your doorstep depends on the county you live in — Medicare Advantage is sold county by county, and a plan listed statewide may or may not be sold where you are.

Key takeaways
- Georgia has 17 new Medicare Advantage plans for 2027, offered by Aetna (CVS Health), Devoted Health, Elevance Health (Anthem), Humana and UnitedHealthcare.
- Each new plan is sold only in specific Georgia counties, so a statewide listing is not a promise the plan is sold where you live.
- Because these plans did not exist in 2026, they have no Medicare Star Rating yet and no local track record.
- The Annual Enrollment Period runs October 15 – December 7, 2026, and a choice made in that window takes effect January 1, 2027.
This explainer walks through what is new, how to check whether a new plan is even available in your county, and what to do before the Annual Enrollment Period closes on December 7, 2026.
How many plans are new, and who offers them
Of the 161 Medicare Advantage plans listed in Georgia for 2027, 17 are new — meaning they were not offered in 2026. The new-plan count by carrier is: Aetna (CVS Health), 1; Devoted Health, 6; Elevance Health (Anthem), 1; Humana, 5; and UnitedHealthcare, 4.
The 17 plans cover a mix of plan types pulled from the CMS file: HMO, HMO-POS, PPO, and several Special Needs Plans (SNPs) — Chronic Condition SNPs (C-SNPs), a dual-eligible SNP (D-SNP) and an institutional SNP (I-SNP). SNPs have eligibility rules of their own; for example, a C-SNP generally requires a qualifying chronic condition, and a D-SNP generally requires having both Medicare and Medicaid.
The full list of all 17 new plans is on this page as a table, with carrier, plan type and county reach for each. The sections below highlight only what is useful to the point being made.
The new plans with the widest county reach
Four of the 17 new plans show the broadest county footprints in the CMS 2027 file for Georgia:
- Humana Together in Health (PPO I-SNP), from Humana — offered in 158 counties.
- HumanaChoice H7617-114 (PPO), from Humana — offered in 158 counties.
- AARP Medicare Advantage from UHC GA-10 (HMO-POS), from UnitedHealthcare — offered in 157 counties.
- Anthem Medicare Advantage 2 (HMO-POS), from Elevance Health (Anthem) — offered in 95 counties.
Devoted Health has two new PPOs — DEVOTED C-SNP CHOICE GIVEBACK EXTRAS 021 GA and DEVOTED CHOICE GIVEBACK EXTRAS 023 GA — each listed in 103 Georgia counties. Other new plans, including entries from Aetna (CVS Health), several Devoted Health PPOs, two Humana PPOs and three UnitedHealthcare dual-eligible plans, have narrower county footprints, from 4 to 41 counties. The on-page table shows the exact figure for each.
A wider county footprint only means a plan is sold in more places. It is not a comment on quality, price, benefits or network.
What "new" means in plain English
A "new" plan is one filed with CMS for 2027 that was not sold in 2026. Two practical facts follow from that:
- New plans do not yet have a Medicare Star Rating. Star Ratings are built from plan performance data collected over time, so a brand-new contract has no rating to publish.
- There is no local track record yet — no past Evidence of Coverage, no prior drug list, no prior provider directory to compare against.
That is a statement of fact, not a judgment. People enroll in new plans every year. It just means the usual year-over-year comparisons many Georgians rely on are not available for these 17 plans, and the only reliable detail comes from the plan's own 2027 documents and the Medicare Plan Finder.
Is a new plan actually offered in your county?
Statewide availability on the CMS file is not the same as availability on your street. To check a specific plan:
1. Go to medicare.gov and open the Plan Finder. 2. Enter your ZIP code — the tool uses county, not state, to show plans. 3. Look for the plan by exact name as it appears in the table on this page. 4. If it does not appear for your ZIP, it is not sold in your county for 2027.
If you prefer the phone, 1-800-MEDICARE (TTY 1-877-486-2048) is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and can confirm whether a plan is offered where you live.
Checking doctors and prescriptions
Once you confirm a plan is sold in your county, three documents matter:
- The provider directory, to see whether your doctors, specialists and preferred hospitals are in network for 2027.
- The formulary (drug list), to see whether your specific prescriptions — by name and dose — are covered, and under which tier or rules.
- The Evidence of Coverage, which spells out cost-sharing, referral rules, prior authorization and appeal rights.
Those documents are published by each plan and are also linked from the Plan Finder page for that plan. If a drug or doctor matters to you, verify it in the 2027 documents, not the 2026 ones.
What to do before December 7
The Annual Enrollment Period runs October 15 – December 7, 2026. A choice made in that window takes effect January 1, 2027. A short checklist:
- Write down your current plan, your doctors, your pharmacies and every prescription with dose.
- Open Plan Finder at medicare.gov and compare your current plan with any 2027 plan you are considering — new or not.
- If you are drawn to one of the 17 new plans, read its 2027 Evidence of Coverage and formulary directly.
- Make any change by December 7, 2026.
If you take no action, in most cases your current plan continues into 2027 under the terms in your plan's Annual Notice of Change (ANOC), which your carrier mails in the fall.
