For 2027, Humana is offering 6 Medicare Advantage plans in Douglas County, down from 7 in 2026. One plan is not returning, no plans are new, and no plans were renamed. The table below lists every Humana plan available in the county for 2027; this article walks through what is in that lineup and how to check any of these plans against your own doctors and prescriptions before December 7.

MyMedicarePlans.org is an independent consumer site. We are not Humana, and Humana is not the only carrier in the area — 7 other carriers also offer Medicare Advantage plans in Douglas County for 2027, for 39 plans in total across all carriers.

What Humana Medicare Advantage plans are offered in Omaha for 2027?

In Douglas County, which includes Omaha, Humana is offering 6 Medicare Advantage plans for 2027. By plan type, that is 3 HMOs and 3 PPOs. All 6 include Part D prescription drug coverage.

Two of those 6 are Dual Eligible Special Needs Plans (D-SNPs), built for people who qualify for both Medicare and Medicaid. There are no Chronic Condition SNPs (C-SNPs) or Institutional SNPs (I-SNPs) from Humana in the county for 2027.

The full list of 2027 Humana plans in the county, in alphabetical order, is:

The table below shows these plans alongside their type and whether they include drug coverage. For premiums, copays, provider networks and drug lists, go to the Medicare Plan Finder at medicare.gov or call 1-800-MEDICARE.

What is new or not returning from Humana in Douglas County for 2027?

One Humana plan available in Douglas County in 2026 is not returning for 2027. Humana is not adding any new plans in the county for 2027, and none of its continuing plans were renamed.

If you are enrolled in the plan that is leaving, Humana is required to send you a notice explaining your options. You can switch to another Medicare Advantage plan during the Annual Enrollment Period (through December 7, 2026), or you can return to Original Medicare and add a stand-alone Part D plan.

If your plan is continuing, you do not have to do anything to stay in it — it will renew on January 1, 2027. But continuing does not mean unchanged. Your Annual Notice of Change (ANOC), which Humana mails each fall, spells out what is different for next year: the premium, the deductible, the copays, the drug list and the provider network can all shift from one plan year to the next.

How do I check a Humana plan against my doctors and prescriptions before December 7?

The most reliable way is the Medicare Plan Finder at medicare.gov. You can enter your ZIP code, add your prescriptions and your preferred pharmacy, and the tool will show you each plan's estimated yearly drug costs and whether your drugs are covered.

A short checklist that works for any plan, Humana or otherwise:

1. Doctors and hospitals. Call the plan or search its online provider directory to confirm each of your providers is in-network for 2027. Networks can change between plan years. 2. Prescriptions. Compare your current medications against the plan's 2027 formulary (drug list). Watch for drugs that move to a higher tier, require prior authorization or are no longer covered. 3. Pharmacy. Confirm your pharmacy is a preferred or standard in-network pharmacy under the plan for 2027. 4. Plan type. HMOs usually require you to use in-network providers and get referrals for specialists; PPOs generally let you go out of network at a higher cost. Decide which trade-off fits your situation. 5. D-SNP eligibility. The two Humana D-SNPs are only for people who have both Medicare and Medicaid. If you are not sure whether you qualify, ask Medicaid or call 1-800-MEDICARE.

If you prefer to talk to a person, 1-800-MEDICARE is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to do anything if I like my current Humana plan?
No. If your plan is being offered again in 2027, it renews automatically on January 1. Read the Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) Humana sends in the fall so you know what is changing for next year — the premium, deductible, copays, drug list and provider network can all be different.
What happens if the Humana plan I have now is the one that is not returning for 2027?
Humana will send you a non-renewal notice. You can pick a different Medicare Advantage plan (from Humana or any of the other 7 carriers in Douglas County) during the Annual Enrollment Period through December 7, 2026, or go back to Original Medicare and add a stand-alone Part D plan. If you do nothing, you will generally be returned to Original Medicare without drug coverage, so it is worth acting.
Can I enroll in one of the Humana D-SNPs if I only have Medicare?
No. Dual Eligible Special Needs Plans are only for people who have both Medicare and Medicaid. If you are not sure whether you qualify for Medicaid in Nebraska, contact the Nebraska Medicaid program or call 1-800-MEDICARE to talk through your options.
Where can I compare Humana's plans against other carriers in Omaha?
The Medicare Plan Finder at medicare.gov lets you see every Medicare Advantage plan available in your ZIP code side by side — all 39 plans across the 8 carriers in Douglas County for 2027 — with your own doctors, drugs and pharmacy factored in. You can also call 1-800-MEDICARE, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. --- For personalized answers about any plan listed here, start at **medicare.gov** or call **1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227)**.
