YONKERS, N.Y. — As the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period runs from Oct. 15 through Dec. 7, people on Medicare Advantage in Yonkers are getting mail that matters. According to CMS's 2026 and 2027 Medicare Advantage Landscape files, Westchester County — where Yonkers sits — will see 20 plans end after 2026, 8 brand-new plans arrive for 2027, and 3 plans keep going under new names. If your plan is on the leaving list, you have options and a bit of extra time to use them.
Key takeaways
- In Westchester County, 20 Medicare Advantage plans are ending after 2026, 8 are new for 2027, and 3 have been renamed.
- If your plan is not returning, you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period that runs through the end of February to switch to another plan or return to Original Medicare.
- Blue Cross Blue Shield (HCSC) will not offer a Medicare Advantage plan in Westchester County in 2027; no new carriers are entering.
- Read the Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) your plan mailed in September — it spells out any premium, deductible, network or benefit changes for 2027.
What's actually changing in Westchester County
Yonkers is in Westchester County, where Medicare Advantage availability is set. For the 2027 plan year, CMS's Landscape file shows 8 new plans, 20 plans leaving, 3 renamed plans, and 54 plans that continue. Another 18 plans are continuing but show at least one change in the CMS file on premium, deductible, plan type or name — your ANOC has the specifics.
One carrier change to note: Blue Cross Blue Shield (HCSC) will not offer a Medicare Advantage plan in the county next year. No brand-new carrier is entering the county, but several existing carriers are refreshing their lineups.
The full plan table on this page lists every 2026 plan in the county. Below, we walk through what is coming off the shelf, what is arriving, and what has a new name.
Plans leaving after 2026
If you are enrolled in one of these plans, your coverage under it ends Dec. 31, 2026, and you will need to pick a new plan or move to Original Medicare (with or without a stand-alone Part D drug plan). The plans not returning to Westchester County are:
- Aetna Medicare Partial Dual Care (HMO D-SNP) — Aetna (CVS Health)
- HealthSpring True Choice (PPO) — Blue Cross Blue Shield (HCSC)
- Wellcare Assist Open (PPO) — Centene (WellCare)
- Wellcare Dual Access (HMO D-SNP) — Centene (WellCare)
- Wellcare Fidelis Dual Liberty Sync (HMO D-SNP) — Centene (WellCare)
- Wellcare Giveback Open (PPO) — Centene (WellCare)
- Wellcare Patriot Simple (HMO-POS) — Centene (WellCare)
- Wellcare Simple (HMO-POS) — Centene (WellCare)
- Wellcare Simple Open (PPO) — Centene (WellCare)
- Elderplan Extra Help (HMO-POS) — Elderplan
- Elderplan Flex (HMO-POS) — Elderplan
- Anthem HealthPlus Full Dual Advantage LTSS (HMO D-SNP) — Elevance Health (Anthem)
- Anthem Medicare Advantage 2 (HMO-POS) — Elevance Health (Anthem)
- Anthem Veteran (HMO-POS) — Elevance Health (Anthem)
- EmblemHealth VIP Dual (HMO D-SNP) — EmblemHealth
- EmblemHealth VIP Dual Enhanced (HMO D-SNP) — EmblemHealth
- Humana Gold Plus SNP-DE H3533-002 (HMO D-SNP) — Humana
- HumanaChoice Giveback H5970-030 (PPO) — Humana
- HumanaChoice SNP-DE H5970-020 (PPO D-SNP) — Humana
- UHC Dual Complete NY-S002 (HMO-POS D-SNP) — UnitedHealthcare
A quick note on that last one: CMS lists the UHC Dual Complete NY-S002 name in both the leaving and new columns. That usually means the contract or plan structure behind the name changed. If that is your plan, your ANOC will tell you what to expect for 2027.
Plans new for 2027
Eight plans show up for the first time next year in Westchester County:
- Aetna Medicare Chronic Care Total (HMO C-SNP) — Aetna (CVS Health)
- Wellcare Fidelis Dual Access (HMO D-SNP) — Centene (WellCare)
- Wellcare Fidelis Dual Liberty Sync (HMO D-SNP) — Centene (WellCare)
- EmblemHealth VIP Saver (HMO) — EmblemHealth
- EmblemHealth VIP Value (HMO) — EmblemHealth
- Healthfirst 65 Plus Plan (HMO) — Healthfirst Medicare Plan
- UHC Complete Care NY-35 (HMO-POS C-SNP) — UnitedHealthcare
- UHC Dual Complete NY-S002 (HMO-POS D-SNP) — UnitedHealthcare
C-SNPs are Chronic-Condition Special Needs Plans, built for people with certain long-term conditions. D-SNPs are Dual Special Needs Plans for people who have both Medicare and Medicaid. If neither describes you, those specific plans are not the right fit — but the county still has plenty of general HMO, HMO-POS and PPO options in the table below.
Same plan, new name
Three plans in Westchester County are continuing but have been renamed for 2027. The name on your 2027 card may not match what you remember:
- Wellcare Fidelis Dual Align Unity (HMO D-SNP) — previously Wellcare Fidelis Dual Align (HMO D-SNP)
- Anthem Medicare Advantage (HMO-POS) — previously Anthem Medicare Advantage (HMO)
- UHC Dual Complete NY-YL (HMO-POS D-SNP) — previously UHC Dual Complete NY-Y001 (HMO-POS D-SNP)
A rename is not the same as staying identical. Read the ANOC for the new-name plan carefully.
What to do if your plan is leaving
If your Medicare Advantage plan is not being offered again in 2027, you will get a non-renewal notice from your plan. You then have two enrollment windows:
- Annual Enrollment Period (Oct. 15 – Dec. 7, 2026): You can pick any plan available in Westchester County for a Jan. 1 start date.
- Special Enrollment Period for non-renewals: Because your plan is leaving, you qualify for an SEP that runs through the end of February 2027. You can use it to join another Medicare Advantage plan or return to Original Medicare and add a stand-alone Part D drug plan.
If you do nothing, in most cases you will be moved to Original Medicare on Jan. 1 and could be without drug coverage, so it is worth acting before the deadline.
A few 2027 program facts worth knowing
These apply program-wide, not to any one plan:
- Part D has a $2,100 out-of-pocket cap in 2026.
- The Part D maximum deductible is $615.
- The old coverage gap ("donut hole") is gone as of 2025 — Part D now has three phases.
- The Medicare Prescription Payment Plan lets you spread drug costs across the year in monthly bills.
- IRMAA surcharges for higher-income enrollees start above $109,000 (single filer, 2026).
