If you already have a Humana plan, nothing happens if you do nothing — your plan renews with the changes spelled out in its Annual Notice of Change (ANOC). If you want to switch, compare, or add drug coverage, December 7 is the date to have your decision made.
MyMedicarePlans.org is an independent consumer site and is not Humana. Humana is one of 20 carriers offering Medicare Advantage in Los Angeles County for 2027; together those carriers field 124 plans.
What Humana Medicare Advantage plans are available in Long Beach for 2027?
Humana is offering 8 Medicare Advantage plans in Los Angeles County, where Long Beach is located, for the 2027 plan year. The lineup splits into 4 HMOs and 4 PPOs. The full table on this page lists every plan by name, type and whether it includes drug coverage.
Humana does not offer a Special Needs Plan (D-SNP, C-SNP or I-SNP) in Los Angeles County for 2027. If you qualify for a SNP based on Medicaid eligibility, a chronic condition, or institutional care, you would need to look at other carriers.
What is new or not returning from Humana for 2027?
For 2027, Humana is adding one new plan in Los Angeles County — Humana Gold Plus H3767-002 (HMO) — and is not discontinuing any plans. That is why the Humana count rises from 7 plans in 2026 to 8 in 2027.
Even when a plan is "returning," the details inside it can change year to year — copays, drug tiers, provider networks, extra benefits. Those changes are listed in the ANOC your plan mailed in September. If you cannot find yours, call the number on your member ID card and ask for a replacement.
Which Humana plans in Long Beach include drug coverage?
Six of Humana's eight 2027 plans in Los Angeles County include Part D prescription drug coverage; two do not. The two without drug coverage are the Humana USAA Honor Giveback (HMO) and the Humana USAA Honor Giveback (PPO).
If you choose a Medicare Advantage plan without drug coverage, you generally cannot add a stand-alone Part D plan on top of it (that combination is only allowed with certain plan types, like some PPOs tied to employer or veteran benefits). The Medicare Plan Finder at medicare.gov will warn you if a pairing is not allowed.
For 2027, the Part D out-of-pocket cap rises to $2,400 (up from $2,100 in 2026), and the Part D maximum deductible is $700 (up from $615 in 2026). The optional Medicare Prescription Payment Plan is still available if you want to spread your drug costs across the year in monthly amounts.
How do I check a Humana plan against my doctors and prescriptions before December 7?
Use the Medicare Plan Finder at medicare.gov. Enter your ZIP code, type in each prescription with the dose and how often you take it, and name the pharmacy you use. The tool shows which plans cover each drug, what tier it falls on, and your projected yearly cost.
For doctors and hospitals, do not rely on the Plan Finder alone — provider directories change. Call each doctor's office and ask whether they will be in-network for the specific plan you are considering in 2027 (give them the plan name and contract number). You can also call Humana directly using the number on the plan's page, or call 1-800-MEDICARE (TTY 1-877-486-2048), available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
A quick checklist before December 7, 2026:
- Read your current plan's ANOC and look for changes to your drugs, your doctors, and your copays.
- Confirm every prescription you take is on the 2027 formulary.
- Confirm your primary care doctor, specialists and preferred hospital are in-network for 2027.
- Check whether any extra benefits you use (dental, vision, OTC allowance, transportation) are changing.
What should I know about 2027 Medicare costs that are not announced yet?
The 2027 Part B standard premium and deductible have not been announced. CMS typically publishes those figures in the fall, usually in November. The 2027 IRMAA income brackets and surcharges (the extra amounts higher earners pay on top of Part B and Part D) are published at the same time.
For reference, in 2026 IRMAA surcharges begin above $109,000 in income for a single filer. We will update coverage once CMS releases the 2027 numbers.
