HealthSpring's 2027 Medicare Advantage plans in Orlando: one plan is not coming back
ORLANDO — As the Annual Enrollment Period runs from October 15 to December 7, 2026, HealthSpring's Medicare Advantage lineup in Orange County is shifting slightly for the 2027 plan year. The carrier will offer three Medicare Advantage plans in the county next year, down from four in 2026, according to the CMS Medicare Advantage Landscape Source Files. Any changes to a plan that is coming back will show up in its Annual Notice of Change (ANOC), the packet the carrier mails before fall.

What HealthSpring Medicare Advantage plans are offered in Orlando for 2027?
HealthSpring is offering three Medicare Advantage plans in Orange County, the county that contains Orlando, for the 2027 plan year. All three are HMOs, and all three include Part D prescription drug coverage. CMS lists HealthSpring under its parent organization, Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC), but the plans are sold under the HealthSpring name.
The three HealthSpring plans available in Orange County for 2027 are:
- HealthSpring Preferred (HMO) — HMO, with drug coverage
- HealthSpring TotalCare (HMO D-SNP) — HMO D-SNP, with drug coverage
- HealthSpring TotalCare Plus (HMO D-SNP) — HMO D-SNP, with drug coverage
The table below lists every plan in the county so you can see the full picture. We cannot publish premiums, copays, deductibles, provider networks or star ratings here; those details live on the official Medicare Plan Finder at medicare.gov and in each plan's Evidence of Coverage.
What is changing in HealthSpring's Orlando lineup for 2027?
One HealthSpring plan offered in Orange County in 2026 is not returning for 2027. No HealthSpring plans are new to the county and none have been renamed, according to the CMS Landscape Source Files for the 2026 and 2027 plan years.
If you are enrolled in a HealthSpring plan that is not coming back, the carrier is required to send you a non-renewal notice explaining your options and the deadlines to switch. You then have a Special Enrollment Period in addition to the regular AEP window. If your plan is renewing, read the Annual Notice of Change you received in September — it details every change to premiums, cost sharing, drug tiers and network for 2027.
What are the HealthSpring D-SNP plans in Orange County?
Two of HealthSpring's three 2027 plans in Orange County — HealthSpring TotalCare (HMO D-SNP) and HealthSpring TotalCare Plus (HMO D-SNP) — are Dual Eligible Special Needs Plans. A D-SNP is a type of Medicare Advantage plan built for people who qualify for both Medicare and Medicaid. HealthSpring does not offer a Chronic Condition SNP (C-SNP) or an Institutional SNP (I-SNP) in the county for 2027.
To enroll in a D-SNP, you have to be eligible for Medicaid in Florida as well as Medicare. If your Medicaid status changes during the year, you may lose eligibility for the D-SNP, so it is worth confirming your status with the Florida Department of Children and Families before you choose one.
How do I check a HealthSpring plan against my doctors and prescriptions?
Before December 7, 2026, plug your details into the Medicare Plan Finder at medicare.gov. The Plan Finder lets you enter your prescriptions, preferred pharmacy and doctors, and will show you how each plan handles them — including which drugs are on the formulary, which tier they fall into, and whether your providers are in network.
Three steps worth taking before you decide:
1. Make a list of your current prescriptions with dosage, and your regular doctors and preferred hospital. 2. Run that list through the Plan Finder for each HealthSpring plan you are considering, and for any other plans you want to compare. 3. Call the plan directly (the number is on medicare.gov) to confirm your doctors are in the 2027 network — networks can change at the start of a plan year.
You can also call 1-800-MEDICARE, which is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
What about Part D costs in 2027?
Even if you keep the same HealthSpring plan, the Part D rules themselves change in 2027. CMS has confirmed the annual out-of-pocket cap for Part D drug costs will be $2,400 in 2027, up from $2,100 in 2026. The maximum Part D deductible a plan can charge will be $700 in 2027, up from $615 in 2026. The Part D national base beneficiary premium for 2027 is $41.33; that is a formula input CMS uses, not the premium any single plan charges.
The 2027 Part B standard premium and deductible, and the 2027 IRMAA income brackets, have not been announced yet. CMS typically publishes those figures in the fall, usually in November. The Medicare Prescription Payment Plan, which lets you spread drug costs across the year in level monthly amounts, is still available in 2027.
What if I do nothing before December 7?
Nothing happens to you if you do nothing — your current plan simply renews on January 1, 2027, with the changes described in its Annual Notice of Change, as long as the plan is being offered next year. If your HealthSpring plan is the one not returning, CMS requires the carrier to notify you and you'll be able to pick a new plan during AEP or in a Special Enrollment Period that follows.
The Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period from January 1 to March 31, 2027 is a second chance to switch Medicare Advantage plans or move back to Original Medicare if your January 1 coverage is not what you expected.
