ORLANDO — If you have a Medicare Advantage plan in the Orlando area, check your mail this fall. In Orange County, the county Orlando sits in, 33 Medicare Advantage plans offered in 2026 are not being offered again for 2027, according to the CMS Landscape Source Files. People in one of those plans should have received, or will soon receive, a non-renewal letter from the carrier explaining that the plan is ending on December 31, 2026.

That letter matters. It triggers a Special Enrollment Period and protects some rights that only apply when a plan goes away. Here is how to tell if your plan is on the list, what happens if you do nothing, and what choices you have.

Which Medicare Advantage plans are ending in Orlando after 2026?

In Orange County, 33 Medicare Advantage plans available in 2026 are not in the CMS 2027 file for the county. The 2026 lineup had 123 plans from 16 carriers; the 2027 lineup has 106 plans from 16 carriers.

The plans not returning for 2027, listed alphabetically by carrier, are:

Being on this list means the plan itself is closing in Orange County — it does not mean the carrier is leaving. Several of these insurers still offer other plans for 2027. The table on this page shows the full picture.

How do I know if my Orlando Medicare Advantage plan is ending?

Your plan's carrier is required to send you a written non-renewal notice, usually arriving in October. The letter will say the plan will not be offered in 2027 and that your coverage will end on December 31, 2026.

Look for an envelope from your insurer that may be labeled "Important: Plan Non-Renewal Notice" or similar. Keep it. You may need it to prove to another plan or a Medigap insurer that your coverage is ending — that proof unlocks the Special Enrollment Period and some protections described below.

If you are unsure whether a letter you received is a non-renewal, you can call the number on the back of your member ID card, or call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227), 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

What happens in Orlando if I do nothing about a non-renewed plan?

If your Medicare Advantage plan is ending and you make no change by December 31, 2026, you will be returned to Original Medicare (Part A and Part B) on January 1, 2027. You keep your Medicare — you do not lose it.

But two things do not come with you automatically:

Original Medicare also has no yearly out-of-pocket limit on its own, which is why many people pair it with a Medigap (Medicare Supplement) policy.

What are my choices and when is the Special Enrollment Period?

If your plan is not returning, Medicare gives you more than one window to act:

Your choices generally include:

When a Medicare Advantage plan is non-renewed, federal rules give you a Medigap guaranteed-issue right for certain policies — meaning an insurer cannot turn you down or charge you more because of your health, within set limits. Florida has its own rules on top of federal protections; for state-specific questions you can contact the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation or the Florida Department of Financial Services.

What else is changing for Medicare in 2027?

A few program-level numbers are already set for 2027 and apply no matter which plan you pick:

The 2027 Part B standard premium and deductible, and the 2027 IRMAA income brackets, have not been announced yet. CMS usually publishes those in the fall, typically in November.

If your current plan is returning for 2027, read the Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) your carrier sends — it spells out what is different next year, from the drug list to the provider network to cost sharing.

Frequently asked questions

My Medicare Advantage plan is ending — do I lose Medicare?
No. You keep your Medicare. If you do nothing, you simply go back to Original Medicare (Part A and Part B) on January 1, 2027. The piece you can lose automatically is Part D drug coverage, because it does not come with Original Medicare — so if you want drug coverage, you need to join a new Medicare Advantage plan that includes it or a stand-alone Part D plan.
How long do I have to pick a new plan if mine is non-renewed?
You can make a change during the Annual Enrollment Period from October 15 through December 7, 2026, with coverage starting January 1, 2027. If your plan is non-renewed, you also get a Special Enrollment Period that runs through February 28, 2027 to pick a different Medicare Advantage plan or move to Original Medicare with a stand-alone Part D plan.
Can I buy a Medigap policy if my Advantage plan is going away?
Federal rules give you a guaranteed-issue right to buy certain Medigap policies when your Medicare Advantage plan ends in your area, within set time limits. That means specific plans must be sold to you regardless of your health history. Florida has additional rules; for state-level questions you can contact the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation.
Where can I compare the Orlando-area plans that will be offered in 2027?
Use the Medicare Plan Finder at medicare.gov to compare the 106 Medicare Advantage plans offered in Orange County for 2027, side by side, based on your ZIP code, drugs and doctors.
