The table on this page lists each plan by type and drug coverage. For premiums, copays, provider networks and drug formularies, use medicare.gov's Plan Finder or call 1-800-MEDICARE — we do not publish those details because they vary by plan and by person.
Does Aetna offer Special Needs Plans in Sedgwick County for 2027?
Yes — two of Aetna's 2027 Wichita plans are Special Needs Plans (SNPs), and both are new for next year. Aetna Medicare Chronic Care is a C-SNP, built for people living with specific chronic conditions. Aetna Medicare Longevity is an I-SNP, designed for people who live in an institutional setting such as a nursing facility or who need that level of care at home.
SNPs have eligibility rules. You cannot simply pick one — you must meet the condition or living-situation criteria the plan is approved for. There are no D-SNPs (for people with both Medicare and Medicaid) from Aetna in the county for 2027.
Which Aetna plans are new, renamed, or not returning in Wichita for 2027?
Four Aetna plans are new in Sedgwick County for 2027, one is renamed, and two 2026 plans are not returning.
- New for 2027: Aetna Medicare Chronic Care (HMO C-SNP), Aetna Medicare Longevity (HMO I-SNP), Aetna Medicare Signature Extra (PPO), and Aetna Medicare Value Plus (HMO).
- Renamed: Aetna Medicare Signature Classic Extra (PPO) was called Aetna Medicare Signature Extra (PPO) in 2026. The name has moved, so read carefully — a 2027 plan with a similar name may not be the plan you had this year.
- Not returning: two of Aetna's 2026 Wichita plans will not be offered in 2027. If you are in one of them, Aetna will send you a notice this fall explaining your options.
If your current plan is renewing, Aetna will mail you an Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) by late September. That document is the authoritative source for what changes about your specific plan — premium, copays, drug tier placement, network — for 2027.
How do I check an Aetna plan against my doctors and prescriptions before December 7?
Use the Medicare Plan Finder at medicare.gov. It is the one tool that lets you enter your ZIP code, type in your prescriptions and dosages, and see each plan's drug costs for the coming year side by side. For doctors and hospitals, check the plan's online provider directory or call the plan directly — Plan Finder does not always show full network details.
A short checklist for Wichita residents:
1. Pull your ANOC. If you have a plan now, read the "changes for 2027" section first. 2. List your prescriptions and your doctors. Include dosages and preferred pharmacy. 3. Run Plan Finder at medicare.gov with that list, filtered to Sedgwick County. 4. Verify your providers in each plan's directory before you enroll. 5. Decide by December 7, 2026. A change made in the window starts January 1, 2027.
If you do nothing and your plan is being offered again, you stay in it — with the 2027 changes described in your ANOC.

- The Part D national base beneficiary premium for 2027 is $41.33 — a formula input CMS uses, not what any specific plan charges.
