The table below lists every UnitedHealthcare plan available in the county for 2027. In alphabetical order, they are:
- AARP Medicare Advantage from UHC KS-0001 (HMO-POS)
- AARP Medicare Advantage from UHC KS-0002 (HMO-POS)
- AARP Medicare Advantage from UHC KS-0003 (PPO)
- AARP Medicare Advantage Patriot No Rx KS-MA01 (PPO)
- AARP Medicare Advantage Patriot No Rx KS-MA2 (HMO-POS)
- UHC Complete Care KS-4 (HMO-POS C-SNP)
- UHC Dual Complete KS-QV1 (HMO-POS D-SNP)

Special Needs Plans in the mix
Three of the eight UnitedHealthcare plans in Sedgwick County for 2027 are Special Needs Plans (SNPs). Two are Dual-Eligible SNPs (D-SNPs), designed for people who have both Medicare and Medicaid: UHC Dual Complete KS-QV1 and UHC Dual Complete KS-S001. One is a Chronic Condition SNP (C-SNP), which is limited to people living with a qualifying chronic condition: UHC Complete Care KS-4. There are no Institutional SNPs (I-SNPs) in this carrier's 2027 Sedgwick County lineup.
SNPs have eligibility rules beyond age and ZIP code. If you think a SNP fits your situation, confirm you qualify before enrolling.
What's new, renamed, or not returning
Compared with 2026, UnitedHealthcare's Sedgwick County lineup has:
- Zero new plans for 2027.
- One plan not returning for 2027. If you're in that plan, UnitedHealthcare must notify you; you can switch during Annual Enrollment, or you'll have a Special Enrollment Period to choose a different plan.
- One renamed plan: UHC Dual Complete KS-QV1 (HMO-POS D-SNP) was previously called UHC Dual Complete KS-Q1 (HMO-POS D-SNP). A rename doesn't automatically mean benefits changed — the Annual Notice of Change has those details.
How to check a plan against your doctors and prescriptions
Before December 7, 2026, do a quick fit check. Here's a plain way to work through it:
1. Open your Annual Notice of Change (ANOC). Your plan mailed this in late September. It spells out what's changing for 2027 — premium, deductible, copays, drug tiers, extra benefits, and sometimes the pharmacy or provider network. 2. List your doctors and your current prescriptions, including dosage. 3. Go to the Medicare Plan Finder at medicare.gov. Enter your ZIP code and your drug list. The tool will show each plan's estimated yearly drug cost, preferred pharmacies, and whether your prescribers are in network. 4. Call the plan directly, or check its online provider directory, to confirm your doctors and specialists will be in network in 2027. Networks can change year to year. 5. If you take costly medications, note that in 2027 the Part D out-of-pocket cap rises to $2,400 (up from $2,100 in 2026) and the Part D maximum deductible rises to $700 (up from $615 in 2026). The Medicare Prescription Payment Plan also lets you spread drug costs across the year in monthly bills if you choose.
If you'd rather talk to a person, 1-800-MEDICARE is open 24/7.
Key dates and what happens if you do nothing
The Annual Enrollment Period runs October 15 through December 7, 2026. Any change you make takes effect January 1, 2027. If you do nothing and your plan is offered again next year, you'll stay in it with the updates described in the ANOC. If your plan isn't returning, you won't be left without coverage — but you will need to pick a new plan to avoid defaulting to Original Medicare without a drug plan.
If you're still unsure after January 1, Medicare Advantage members get a second window: the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period, January 1 – March 31, 2027, when you can switch to another Medicare Advantage plan once or return to Original Medicare.
A few 2027 figures are still pending. CMS typically announces the 2027 Part B standard premium and deductible, and the 2027 IRMAA income brackets, later in the fall. Watch medicare.gov for those.
