Which HealthSpring Medicare Advantage plans are offered in Cincinnati for 2027?

In Hamilton County — the county Cincinnati is in — HealthSpring will offer 3 Medicare Advantage plans for 2027: 2 HMOs and 1 PPO. All three include Part D prescription drug coverage. HealthSpring will not offer a Special Needs Plan (D-SNP, C-SNP or I-SNP) in the county next year.

CMS lists these plans under HealthSpring's parent organization, Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC), but they are sold under the HealthSpring name. The table below shows every HealthSpring plan available in the county for 2027, in alphabetical order:

We can tell you what is offered, but not what any plan costs, pays or covers. For premiums, deductibles, copays, provider networks, drug formularies and star ratings, use the Medicare Plan Finder at medicare.gov or call 1-800-MEDICARE.

What is changing in HealthSpring's Cincinnati lineup from 2026 to 2027?

Two HealthSpring plans offered in Hamilton County in 2026 are not being offered in 2027, no new plans are being added, and the plans that are returning may still change in important ways. Each returning plan will send members an Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) that spells out what is different for 2027 — the drug list, the provider network, the premium, copays, and extra benefits can all shift year to year.

If you are enrolled in a plan that is not returning, HealthSpring will send a non-renewal notice. You then have a Special Enrollment Period to pick a new plan. If you do nothing, you keep Original Medicare but lose the Medicare Advantage coverage and any Part D attached to it, so it pays to act.

What happens if I do nothing by December 7, 2026?

If your HealthSpring plan is being offered again in 2027, you do not have to do anything — your plan renews on January 1, 2027, with the changes in the ANOC. If your plan is one of the two not returning, your coverage ends December 31, 2026, and you will need to choose another plan.

Even if your plan is renewing, it is worth a quick check. The pharmacy you use may be out of network next year, a drug you take may move to a different tier, or your doctor may no longer participate. These are the kinds of changes an ANOC flags, and the kinds of changes the Plan Finder lets you compare side by side.

How do I check a HealthSpring plan against my doctors and prescriptions before December 7?

Use medicare.gov's Plan Finder: enter your ZIP code, add your prescriptions and your pharmacy, and the tool will show which plans cover your drugs and at what tier. For doctors and hospitals, check the plan's online provider directory, or call HealthSpring's member services number (listed on medicare.gov and on your plan materials) and ask whether your specific providers are in network for 2027.

A simple checklist for the Cincinnati area:

If you miss December 7 and you are already on a Medicare Advantage plan, you still have the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period from January 1 to March 31, 2027, to switch to another MA plan or go back to Original Medicare once.

What 2027 Medicare numbers do I need to know?

A few program-wide Part D figures for 2027 are confirmed and apply no matter which plan you choose:

The 2027 Part B standard premium and deductible, and the 2027 IRMAA income brackets, have not been announced yet. CMS typically publishes them in the fall, usually in November. We will not estimate them here.

The coverage gap (the old "donut hole") is gone as of 2025, so Part D now has three phases: deductible, initial coverage, and catastrophic. Once you hit the out-of-pocket cap, you pay $0 for covered Part D drugs the rest of the year. If big monthly drug bills are a problem, ask about the Medicare Prescription Payment Plan, which spreads your out-of-pocket drug costs across the year.
