What’s Changing in Oklahoma Medicare Advantage for 2027: 14 Plans Leaving, 24 Changing

OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahomans on Medicare Advantage will see a reshaped menu of plans when the 2027 plan year opens, according to the two Medicare Advantage Landscape files from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) that cover CY2026 and CY2027. Statewide, the plan count moves from 82 for 2026 to 81 for 2027. Behind that near-flat total is real churn: 14 plans are leaving, 24 are changing in at least one county, 13 are new, and 44 are continuing unchanged. Every one of Oklahoma's 77 counties sees at least one plan leave or change.

Key takeaways

  • 14 Medicare Advantage plans offered somewhere in Oklahoma for 2026 will not be offered anywhere in the state for 2027, and 24 more are changing in at least one county.
  • If your plan is not renewed, you get a Special Enrollment Period that runs through the end of February 2027 to pick a new plan.
  • The Annual Enrollment Period runs October 15 – December 7, 2026, and a choice you make in it takes effect January 1, 2027.
  • Read your Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) from your current plan — that document has the specifics for your plan in your county.

What the statewide numbers mean

CMS publishes a Landscape file for each plan year. Comparing CY2026 to CY2027 for Oklahoma, there are 82 Medicare Advantage plans offered for 2026 and 81 for 2027. Each plan is counted once statewide, no matter how many counties it serves.

A plan is counted as "leaving" when it was offered somewhere in Oklahoma for 2026 and is offered nowhere in Oklahoma for 2027 — 14 plans fit that definition. A plan is counted as "changing" when it is offered in both years but differs on premium, drug deductible, plan type, or plan name in at least one county between the two files — 24 plans fit that definition. CMS's file also shows 13 plans new to Oklahoma for 2027 and 44 plans continuing unchanged.

Among carriers, the Landscape files list no Oklahoma Medicare Advantage plans for 2027 under these names: Blue Cross and Blue Shield of IL, NM, OK, TX; Blue Cross and Blue Shield of OK, TX; Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma; and Wellcare. One carrier is new to Oklahoma for 2027: Native Advantage.

If your plan is leaving

If your current Medicare Advantage plan is on the leaving list, your plan sponsor is required to send you a non-renewal notice. You will also qualify for a Special Enrollment Period (SEP) that runs through the end of February 2027. During that window, you can enroll in another Medicare Advantage plan or return to Original Medicare and, if eligible, add a stand-alone Part D drug plan.

If you do nothing, your coverage under that plan ends when it leaves the market. That is why reading the non-renewal letter when it arrives — and acting during the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) or the SEP — matters.

If your plan is changing

Twenty-four plans are staying in Oklahoma for 2027 but differ in at least one county on premium, drug deductible, plan type, or plan name as shown in the CMS Landscape file. If your plan is on that list, the specifics for your county are in your Annual Notice of Change (ANOC), which plans mail each fall before AEP.

The ANOC is the authoritative document for what is different in your plan next year. If you do nothing, you stay enrolled in your renewing plan with the changes described in the ANOC taking effect January 1, 2027. Read it alongside the Evidence of Coverage and compare it to how you actually used the plan this year — the doctors you saw, the drugs you filled, the pharmacies you used.

Counties with the most change

CMS data shows all 77 Oklahoma counties experience at least one plan leaving or changing for 2027. A few counties stand out for the sheer number of plans affected:

These are counts of distinct plans in the CMS file for each county. One household can be touched by more than one of them if, for example, spouses are on different plans.

What to do before December 7

The Annual Enrollment Period runs October 15 – December 7, 2026. Any choice you make during AEP takes effect January 1, 2027. A short checklist:

1. Watch the mail in September and October 2026 for the ANOC from your current plan, or a non-renewal letter if your plan is leaving. 2. Make a list of your doctors, hospitals, prescription drugs (with dosages), and preferred pharmacies. 3. Compare your current plan's 2027 version to other plans available in your county using the official Plan Finder. 4. If your plan is not being renewed, remember the SEP runs through the end of February 2027 — you have time past December 7, but you do not have unlimited time. 5. Keep a copy of any confirmation number from an enrollment you complete.

These counts come from comparing the two official CMS Medicare Advantage Landscape files for 2026 and 2027. A plan counts as leaving when it was offered in the county for 2026 and is not offered there for 2027. A plan counts as changing when it is offered in both years but its 2027 listing differs on something a member would notice: the premium, the drug deductible, the plan type, or the plan name. Only the counts are shown here. This page does not name plans, list premiums or benefits, or recommend anything. Each plan is counted once statewide, however many counties it serves.
