Key takeaways
- Regence BlueShield is offering 2 Medicare Advantage plans in King County for 2027: one HMO and one PPO, both with drug coverage.
- One Regence plan from 2026 is not returning for 2027, and one plan is new for 2027 — your Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) spells out what applies to you.
- Regence is one of 11 carriers offering Medicare Advantage in King County next year, with 59 plans across all carriers combined.
- Open Enrollment runs October 15 – December 7, 2026; if you do nothing, your current plan renews for 2027 if it is still offered, with the changes listed in its ANOC.
MyMedicarePlans.org is an independent consumer site, not Regence and not Medicare. The plan counts below come from the CMS Medicare Advantage Landscape Source Files for 2026 and 2027.
What Regence is offering in King County for 2027
For plan year 2027, Regence BlueShield's Medicare Advantage lineup in King County includes:
- Regence BlueAdvantage HMO (HMO) — with drug coverage; new for 2027
- Regence MedAdvantage + Rx Enhanced (PPO) — with drug coverage
That is two plans in total — one HMO and one PPO — and both include Part D prescription drug coverage. Regence is not offering a Dual-Eligible, Chronic Condition or Institutional Special Needs Plan (D-SNP, C-SNP or I-SNP) in the county for 2027.
The table on this page lists each plan as CMS has it filed. For what any plan actually costs you, what it covers, which doctors are in network, and which drugs are on its formulary, you need to look the plan up directly — more on how to do that below.
What's new, what's not returning
Compared with 2026, Regence's King County lineup has two moving pieces for 2027:
- 1 new plan — Regence BlueAdvantage HMO (HMO) is being offered for the first time next year.
- 1 plan not returning — one Regence plan sold in 2026 will not be offered in 2027.
If you are enrolled in the plan that isn't returning, Regence is required to send you a notice. Read it when it arrives. People in a plan that is going away have a Special Enrollment Period to pick a different plan, but it is easier to make the choice during the Annual Enrollment window than to scramble in January.
If your current Regence plan is returning, your Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) — the booklet mailed in September — is the document that tells you what is different about the 2027 version of the plan you have. Premium, deductible, copays, drug tiers and the provider and pharmacy network can all shift from one year to the next.
The bigger picture in King County
Regence is one carrier in a crowded market. For 2027, 11 carriers are offering Medicare Advantage plans in King County, with 59 plans in total across all of them. That means if you want to compare Regence's two plans against what else is available where you live, there is a lot to look at — which is exactly what the Medicare Plan Finder is built for.
How to check a plan against your doctors and prescriptions
Before you enroll in, keep or leave any plan, do these three checks. They are the ones that trip people up in January.
1. Look it up on the Medicare Plan Finder. Go to medicare.gov/plan-compare, enter your ZIP code, and add every prescription you take with the exact dose and refill frequency. The tool will show each plan's estimated yearly drug cost based on your actual list. 2. Check your doctors and hospitals. Call the plan or use its online provider directory to confirm the specific providers you see are in network for the exact 2027 plan you are considering. "Regence is in network" is not the same as "this plan is in network" — networks differ by plan. 3. Check your pharmacy and your drugs. A plan's formulary (its drug list) and its preferred pharmacies can change each year. Confirm each medication is still covered on the 2027 formulary and ask what tier it is on.
If any of that is confusing, call 1-800-MEDICARE (TTY 1-877-486-2048), 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can also call Regence directly using the number on the back of your member card.
Dates and dollar figures to keep in mind
A few program-level facts for context as you compare:
- Annual Enrollment Period: October 15 – December 7, 2026. Changes take effect January 1, 2027.
- Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment: January 1 – March 31, 2027. If you are in a Medicare Advantage plan on January 1, you get one chance in this window to switch to a different MA plan or go back to Original Medicare.
- Part D out-of-pocket cap: $2,100 in 2026, rising to $2,400 in 2027.
- Part D maximum deductible: $615 in 2026, rising to $700 in 2027.
- Part B premium and deductible for 2027, and the 2027 IRMAA income brackets: CMS announces these later in the fall, usually in November. Watch medicare.gov.
Nothing happens to you if you do nothing — your current plan simply renews for 2027 if Regence is still offering it, with whatever changes the ANOC describes.
