This article walks through Aetna's 2027 plans by type, points out what is new and what is going away, and shows you how to check any plan against your doctors and prescriptions before Annual Enrollment 2027 closes on December 7, 2026. MyMedicarePlans.org is an independent news and education site; we are not Aetna, and Aetna is one of 12 carriers offering Medicare Advantage in St. Lucie County for 2027.
Which Aetna Medicare Advantage plans are available in Port St. Lucie for 2027?
Aetna is offering six Medicare Advantage plans in St. Lucie County — the county Port St. Lucie sits in — for the 2027 plan year. By type, that is five HMO plans and one PPO plan. Five of the six include Part D prescription drug coverage.
The six plans, in alphabetical order, are: Aetna Medicare Chronic Care (HMO C-SNP); Aetna Medicare Eagle Giveback (PPO); Aetna Medicare Full Dual Select (HMO D-SNP); Aetna Medicare Partial Dual Select (HMO D-SNP); Aetna Medicare Select (HMO); and a second Aetna Medicare Select (HMO). The table below lists every one of these plans with its plan type and whether it includes drug coverage.
What Special Needs Plans is Aetna offering in St. Lucie County in 2027?
Aetna has three Special Needs Plans in St. Lucie County for 2027: two Dual Eligible Special Needs Plans (D-SNPs) and one Chronic Condition Special Needs Plan (C-SNP). There is no Institutional SNP in the Aetna lineup here.
SNPs are a type of Medicare Advantage plan limited to people who meet specific conditions. D-SNPs are for people who have both Medicare and Medicaid. C-SNPs are for people with certain chronic conditions, like diabetes or heart failure — the plan's materials spell out exactly who qualifies. In Aetna's 2027 Port St. Lucie roster, the D-SNPs are Aetna Medicare Full Dual Select and Aetna Medicare Partial Dual Select, and the C-SNP is Aetna Medicare Chronic Care.
What is new, renamed, or not returning from Aetna for 2027?
For 2027, Aetna is adding one new plan in St. Lucie County, Aetna Medicare Chronic Care (HMO C-SNP). One plan is renamed: Aetna Medicare Partial Dual Select (HMO D-SNP) was previously Aetna Medicare Dual Select (HMO D-SNP). Seven Aetna plans offered here in 2026 are not returning for 2027.
If one of the plans you are in now is not continuing, Aetna is required to send you a non-renewal notice. If your plan is simply changing — new name, new benefits, new drug list, new cost-sharing — those changes are spelled out in your ANOC, which should arrive by late September. The ANOC is the single most important piece of mail to open before December 7.
How do I check an Aetna plan against my doctors and prescriptions before December 7?
Go to the Medicare Plan Finder at medicare.gov, enter your ZIP code, and type in each of your prescription drugs and your preferred pharmacy. The tool will show you how each plan handles your specific medications and whether your pharmacy is in network. For doctors and hospitals, use the plan's own provider directory on the Aetna website or call the number on Aetna's materials to confirm each provider is in network for the specific plan you are considering — networks can differ from one plan to another even within the same carrier.
A short checklist that saves rework:
- Write down every prescription with the dose and how often you take it.
- List every doctor, specialist, and hospital you want to keep using.
- Note the pharmacy you actually use.
- Check each plan in Plan Finder, then confirm providers directly with the plan.
If you want to talk it through with someone neutral, call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227), which is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
When is the deadline, and what happens if I do nothing?
Annual Enrollment for 2027 coverage runs from October 15 to December 7, 2026. Any change you make during that window takes effect January 1, 2027. If you do nothing and your current plan is still being offered next year, you will stay in it with whatever changes are described in your ANOC. If your plan is one of the seven Aetna plans not returning, you will need to pick a new plan or you may end up back in Original Medicare without drug coverage.
There is also a Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period from January 1 to March 31, 2027. During that window, if you are already in a Medicare Advantage plan, you can switch to a different Medicare Advantage plan once or go back to Original Medicare and add a Part D plan.
What 2027 Medicare figures are already set?
A few program-wide numbers for 2027 are already confirmed by CMS and apply no matter which plan or carrier you choose:
- The Part D out-of-pocket cap rises to $2,400 in 2027 (it is $2,100 in 2026).
- The Part D maximum deductible is $700 in 2027 (it is $615 in 2026).
- The Part D national base beneficiary premium for 2027 is $41.33 — this is a formula input, not what any particular plan charges.
The 2027 Part B standard premium and deductible, and the 2027 IRMAA income brackets, have not been announced yet. CMS typically publishes those in the fall, usually in November.
