What HealthSpring Medicare Advantage plans are offered in Atlanta for 2027?
HealthSpring is offering six Medicare Advantage plans in Fulton County, which is where Atlanta sits, for the 2027 plan year. Five are HMOs and one is a PPO. All six include Part D prescription drug coverage.
CMS lists these plans under HealthSpring's parent organization, Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC), but they are sold under the HealthSpring name. In alphabetical order, HealthSpring's 2027 plans in the county are:
- HealthSpring Preferred (HMO) — HMO, with drug coverage
- HealthSpring Preferred GA (HMO) — HMO, with drug coverage
- HealthSpring Preferred Savings (HMO) — HMO, with drug coverage
- HealthSpring TotalCare (HMO D-SNP) — HMO D-SNP, with drug coverage
- HealthSpring TotalCare Plus (HMO D-SNP) — HMO D-SNP, with drug coverage
- HealthSpring True Choice (PPO) — PPO, with drug coverage
The table on this page lists every plan side by side. For premiums, copays, provider networks and drug formularies, use the Medicare Plan Finder at medicare.gov or call 1-800-MEDICARE — those details are not something a news article should quote.
What is new or not returning from HealthSpring in Fulton County for 2027?
One HealthSpring plan that was offered in Fulton County for 2026 is not being offered again for 2027. The carrier is not adding any new plans and is not renaming any plans this year.
If you are enrolled in the plan that is not returning, HealthSpring is required to send you written notice. If you take no action by December 7, 2026, you may lose Medicare Advantage coverage or be defaulted into Original Medicare — read any letter you get from the plan carefully. Everyone else enrolled in a HealthSpring plan should still receive an Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) in September or early October that spells out what is different for 2027.
What are the Special Needs Plans in this lineup?
Two of HealthSpring's six Atlanta-area plans for 2027 are Dual Eligible Special Needs Plans (D-SNPs): HealthSpring TotalCare (HMO D-SNP) and HealthSpring TotalCare Plus (HMO D-SNP). D-SNPs are built for people who qualify for both Medicare and Medicaid, and you have to meet those eligibility rules to join.
HealthSpring is not offering a Chronic Condition SNP (C-SNP) or Institutional SNP (I-SNP) in the county for 2027.
How do I check a HealthSpring plan against my doctors and prescriptions before December 7?
The fastest way is the Medicare Plan Finder at medicare.gov. Enter your ZIP code, type in each of your prescriptions with the dose and how often you take it, and the tool will show how each plan covers them — including the deductible phase, the initial coverage phase and what you would pay once you hit the new 2027 Part D out-of-pocket cap.
A short checklist that works for any plan, not just HealthSpring's:
1. Pull out your current plan's ANOC and highlight anything that changes in 2027. 2. List every doctor, hospital and pharmacy you want to keep using. 3. List every prescription with dose and frequency. 4. On medicare.gov, enter all of the above and compare the plans you are weighing. 5. Call the plan directly to confirm your providers are in the 2027 network — networks can change on January 1.
If you prefer to talk to a person, 1-800-MEDICARE is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
What 2027 Medicare numbers are already confirmed?
Two Part D figures for 2027 are set:
- The Part D out-of-pocket cap rises to $2,400 in 2027, up from $2,100 in 2026.
- The Part D maximum deductible rises to $700 in 2027, up from $615 in 2026.
- The Part D national base beneficiary premium for 2027 is $41.33. This is a formula input CMS uses, not what any specific plan charges.
The 2027 Part B standard premium and deductible, and the 2027 IRMAA income brackets, have not been announced yet. CMS typically publishes those in the fall, usually in November. We will update our coverage when they are released — until then, treat any number you see online as an estimate, not a fact.
The Annual Enrollment Period runs October 15 through December 7, 2026, and any change you make takes effect January 1, 2027. If you do nothing, your current plan renews — with whatever changes the ANOC lists — as long as it is still offered next year.
