NORTH LAS VEGAS — Fall 2026. If you have a Medicare Advantage plan here, the mail you are getting now is the one that matters most this season. Your plan's Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) spells out what will be different on January 1, 2027 — the premium, the drug list, the pharmacy network, the doctors in-network, even whether the plan is still being offered. You have until December 7, 2026 to switch to something else for 2027 coverage. Doing nothing is a choice too: your current plan simply renews with the changes in the ANOC baked in.
North Las Vegas is in Clark County, where the 2027 lineup looks a little different from 2026. Below is a plain-English way to compare what is on the shelf before the deadline.
How many Medicare Advantage plans are available in North Las Vegas for 2027?
North Las Vegas is in Clark County, where 72 Medicare Advantage plans from 10 carriers are offered for 2027, according to the CMS Landscape Source File. That is a modest shift from 2026's 74 plans and 12 carriers.
By plan type for 2027, the county has 37 HMO plans, 18 HMO-POS plans and 17 PPO plans. Sixty-seven of the 72 plans include Part D drug coverage. Special Needs Plans (SNPs), which are built for people with specific situations, break down to 16 Dual-Eligible SNPs (D-SNPs) for people with both Medicare and Medicaid, 16 Chronic Condition SNPs (C-SNPs), and 1 Institutional SNP (I-SNP).
The carriers offering plans in the county for 2027 are, in alphabetical order: Aetna (CVS Health), Alignment Health Plan, Centene (WellCare), Champion Health Plan, Elevance Health (Anthem), HealthSpring, Humana, SCAN Health Plan, Select Health and UnitedHealthcare. The table below lists every plan.
What is new or changing in the Clark County lineup for 2027?
For 2027, Clark County has 9 new Medicare Advantage plans, 11 plans that are not returning, and 15 that have been renamed. If your plan's name changed, it is not automatically a different plan — but the ANOC will spell out what, if anything, is actually different.
Two carriers that offered plans in the county in 2026 — Blue Cross Blue Shield (HCSC), Kaiser Permanente and Molina Healthcare of Nevada — are reflected differently in the 2027 landscape; your ANOC or a notice from the carrier will tell you if a specific plan you are in is affected. If your plan is not being offered in 2027, the carrier is required to send you a non-renewal notice, and you get a Special Enrollment Period to pick a new plan.
How do I compare Medicare Advantage plans in North Las Vegas step by step?
Start with your own plan, then compare others against it. Here is a workable order:
1. Read your Annual Notice of Change. It arrives by late September. Flip to the "changes" chart — premium, drug deductible, drug tiers, and any benefit changes for 2027. 2. List your doctors and hospitals. Write down each one you want to keep seeing, including specialists. 3. List your prescriptions. Include the exact dose and how often you take each one. 4. Note your preferred pharmacy. The same drug can cost different amounts at different pharmacies within one plan's network. 5. Open the Medicare Plan Finder at medicare.gov. Enter your ZIP code, your drugs and your pharmacy. The tool shows every plan available to you with a full-year cost estimate that combines premium, deductible, and your specific drug costs. 6. Check networks for each finalist. Call the plan or search its online directory to confirm your doctors and hospitals are in-network for 2027 — not 2026. Networks can change on January 1. 7. Check the drug coverage details. Even if a drug is "covered," look at the tier, any prior authorization, and quantity limits. 8. Read the Summary of Benefits for anything that matters to you — dental, vision, hearing, transportation, over-the-counter allowances.
Do this for your current plan and two or three alternatives. If you want help, 1-800-MEDICARE is open 24/7.
What should I know about HMO, HMO-POS, PPO and SNP plans?
HMO plans usually ask you to pick a primary care doctor and get referrals to specialists, and generally only cover in-network care except in emergencies. HMO-POS plans are HMOs with a limited "point of service" option to go out of network for certain services, usually at higher cost. PPO plans let you see any provider that accepts Medicare, with lower cost-sharing in-network and higher out-of-network.
Special Needs Plans are a type of Medicare Advantage plan limited to specific groups. D-SNPs are for people with both Medicare and Medicaid. C-SNPs are for people with certain chronic conditions, such as diabetes or heart disease. I-SNPs are for people living in a long-term care facility or needing that level of care at home. You have to meet the eligibility rules to join one.
What 2027 Medicare figures are already set, and which are not?
A few 2027 figures have been published by CMS and apply nationwide, regardless of which plan you choose:
- Part D out-of-pocket cap: $2,400 in 2027 (up from $2,100 in 2026).
- Part D maximum deductible: $700 in 2027 (up from $615 in 2026).
- Part D national base beneficiary premium: $41.33 for 2027. This is a formula input, not what any specific plan charges.
The 2027 Part B standard premium and deductible and the 2027 IRMAA income brackets have not been announced yet. CMS typically publishes these in the fall, usually in November. Do not plan around estimates; wait for the official numbers.
Also worth knowing: the Part D coverage gap (the old "donut hole") was eliminated in 2025, so Part D now has three phases — deductible, initial coverage, and catastrophic — and the Medicare Prescription Payment Plan lets you spread your out-of-pocket drug costs across the calendar year in monthly installments if you opt in.
What if I do nothing by December 7?
If you do nothing by December 7, 2026, and your current plan is being offered in 2027, you stay in it — with the 2027 changes described in your ANOC. If your plan is not being offered in 2027, you get a Special Enrollment Period and can pick a new Medicare Advantage plan or return to Original Medicare with a stand-alone Part D plan.
There is one more window after AEP: the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period, January 1 – March 31, 2027. During that window, if you are already in a Medicare Advantage plan, you can switch to a different Medicare Advantage plan once, or drop back to Original Medicare and add a Part D plan. You cannot use it to switch from Original Medicare into Medicare Advantage.
