North Las Vegas, Nev. — Eleven Medicare Advantage plans sold in Clark County this year will not be offered again in 2027, and the carriers involved are mailing non-renewal letters to affected members this fall. If you are enrolled in one of them, you have a protected window to pick a new plan — and if you do nothing, you will land on Original Medicare on January 1.
Here is who is affected, how to tell, and what your choices look like.
Which Medicare Advantage plans are not returning in North Las Vegas for 2027?
North Las Vegas is in Clark County, and CMS's 2027 Landscape file shows 11 Medicare Advantage plans that are offered in the county in 2026 but are not being offered again next year. In alphabetical order by carrier, those plans are:
- Aetna Medicare Signature (HMO) — Aetna (CVS Health)
- Wellcare Simple (HMO-POS) — Centene (WellCare)
- Wellcare Specialty Simple (HMO-POS C-SNP) — Centene (WellCare)
- Champion Select (HMO-POS C-SNP) — Champion Health Plan
- Senior Care Plus Complete Plan (HMO) — Kaiser Permanente
- Senior Care Plus Enriched Duals Plan (HMO D-SNP) — Kaiser Permanente
- Molina Medicare Complete Care (HMO D-SNP) — Molina Healthcare of Nevada

- AARP Medicare Advantage from UHC NV-0002 (HMO-POS) — UnitedHealthcare
- UHC Complete Care Support NV-11 (HMO-POS C-SNP) — UnitedHealthcare
For context, Clark County will have 72 Medicare Advantage plans from 10 carriers available for 2027. The full lineup is in the table below.
How do I know if my Medicare Advantage plan is ending in 2027?
If your plan is one of the 11 above, your insurer must send you a non-renewal letter — sometimes titled "Plan Termination Notice" or "Important Information About Your Plan" — by early October 2026. The letter will say your plan will not be offered in 2027 and that your coverage ends on December 31, 2026.
Open everything from your plan this fall, even envelopes that look like marketing. The non-renewal letter is separate from the Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) that renewing plans send. If you are not sure whether a letter you received counts, call the member services number on the back of your plan card, or call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227).
What happens in North Las Vegas if I do nothing after my plan ends?
If your 2026 Medicare Advantage plan is on the non-renewal list and you do not pick a new plan, you will be moved to Original Medicare — Part A (hospital) and Part B (medical) — on January 1, 2027. You will keep your Medicare, but a few things change automatically:
- You will not have Part D prescription drug coverage unless you join a stand-alone Part D plan.
- Extra benefits your Advantage plan offered (such as dental, vision or over-the-counter allowances) end with the plan.
- You will pay Original Medicare's standard cost sharing. CMS announces the 2027 Part B premium and deductible later in the fall; the 2026 Part D maximum deductible is $615 and the 2026 out-of-pocket cap on covered drugs is $2,100. For 2027, the Part D out-of-pocket cap is $2,400 and the Part D maximum deductible is $700.
Doing nothing is a choice, not a default to avoid at all costs — some people prefer Original Medicare. But if you want drug coverage or an Advantage plan for 2027, you need to pick one.
What Special Enrollment Period do I get if my plan is non-renewing?
When your Medicare Advantage plan is terminated by the carrier, Medicare gives you a Special Enrollment Period (SEP) that runs from December 8, 2026 through the end of February 2027. During that window you can:
- Join a different Medicare Advantage plan (with or without drug coverage), or
- Return to Original Medicare and add a stand-alone Part D plan.
You can also use the regular Annual Enrollment Period (October 15 – December 7, 2026) to switch now, and a change made in that window takes effect January 1, 2027.
A separate protection applies if you want to go back to Original Medicare with a Medicare Supplement (Medigap) policy: losing your Advantage plan because it is leaving your area generally gives you a guaranteed-issue right to buy certain Medigap policies, meaning insurers cannot turn you down or charge more for health reasons during a limited window. The specifics — which plans you can buy, how long the window lasts, and any Nevada rules — are set at the state level, so check with the Nevada Division of Insurance or call 1-800-MEDICARE before you drop Advantage coverage.
