Oklahoma City sits in Oklahoma County, and Medicare Advantage availability is set at the county level. For 2027, UnitedHealthcare's 14 plans here break down this way:
- By type: 9 HMO-POS and 5 PPO.
- Special Needs Plans: 3 Dual-eligible (D-SNP), 2 Chronic Condition (C-SNP), and 1 Institutional (I-SNP).

What is new, renamed, or not returning
Three plans are new for 2027: AARP Medicare Advantage from UHC OK-1P (HMO-POS), UHC Complete Care OK-2P (HMO-POS C-SNP), and UHC Dual Complete OK-S002 (HMO-POS D-SNP).
Two plans carry new names for 2027: AARP Medicare Advantage Extras from UHC OK-10 (HMO-POS) was previously AARP Medicare Advantage Extras from UHC OK-8, and UHC Dual Advantage OK-V1 (HMO-POS D-SNP) was previously UHC Dual Complete OK-V001. A rename does not necessarily mean the plan itself is unchanged — check the ANOC for details.
One UnitedHealthcare plan offered in Oklahoma County this year is not returning for 2027. If your plan is the one going away, you'll get a non-renewal notice from the carrier, and you have a special enrollment period to pick a new plan.
Special Needs Plans, explained briefly
Six of UnitedHealthcare's 2027 plans in the county are Special Needs Plans, which are limited to people who meet specific criteria:
- D-SNP (Dual-eligible): for people who have both Medicare and Medicaid.
- C-SNP (Chronic Condition): for people with a qualifying chronic condition.
- I-SNP (Institutional): for people who live in a nursing home or need that level of care.
If you don't fit the eligibility category, you can't enroll in that plan. The Medicare Plan Finder at medicare.gov will only show you SNPs you qualify for when you sign in.
How to check a plan against your doctors and prescriptions
Before December 7, every plan you're considering should be checked against three things that are personal to you — not something a plan count can answer:
1. Your doctors and hospitals. On medicare.gov's Plan Finder, open the plan's detail page and use the link to the carrier's provider directory. Then call your doctor's office and ask whether they'll accept that specific plan in 2027. Networks can change at the start of the year. 2. Your prescriptions. Type each drug and dose into Plan Finder. It will show the plan's formulary, the tier your drug falls on, and the pharmacies that offer the best price under that plan. 3. The ANOC for your current plan. If you already have a UnitedHealthcare plan, the Annual Notice of Change arrived (or will arrive) by late September 2026 and lists exactly what is changing on January 1 — premium, deductible, drug tiers, extras, and network.
You can also call 1-800-MEDICARE (TTY 1-877-486-2048), 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
