Key takeaways

  • Nine Medicare Advantage plans will not return to Oklahoma County in 2027, and Centene (WellCare) is leaving the county altogether — affected members get a Special Enrollment Period.
  • Eight new Medicare Advantage plans are being added for 2027 across five carriers, including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield (HCSC), CommunityCare, Devoted Health and UnitedHealthcare.
  • The Annual Enrollment Period runs October 15 – December 7, 2026, with new coverage starting January 1, 2027.
  • For 2027, the Part D out-of-pocket cap rises to $2,400 and the Part D maximum deductible to $700 (up from $2,100 and $615 in 2026).

OKLAHOMA CITY — If you have a Medicare Advantage plan here, this fall's mail is worth opening. For plan year 2027, Oklahoma County will see eight new Medicare Advantage plans come on the market, nine plans leave, and one carrier — Centene (WellCare) — exit the county entirely, according to the CMS Medicare Advantage Landscape Source Files comparing 2026 and 2027.

The Annual Enrollment Period runs October 15 through December 7, 2026. Choices made in that window take effect January 1, 2027. If you do nothing and your plan is still offered next year, it renews automatically with the changes described in your Annual Notice of Change (ANOC).

The 2027 lineup, at a glance

Oklahoma City sits in Oklahoma County, which is how CMS defines Medicare Advantage availability. For 2026, the county has 60 Medicare Advantage plans from nine carriers — a mix of HMO, HMO-POS, PPO and one PFFS plan, with 23 Special Needs Plans in the group and drug coverage built into every one. The 2027 roster shifts because of the plans leaving, the plans being added, and renames and other changes at carriers that are staying. The table below lists every plan.

The nine carriers offering plans in the county in 2026 are Aetna (CVS Health), American Health Advantage of Oklahoma, Blue Cross Blue Shield (HCSC), Centene (WellCare), CommunityCare Senior Health Plan, Devoted Health, GlobalHealth, Humana and UnitedHealthcare. With Centene's exit, eight of those nine will offer plans in Oklahoma County for 2027.

Plans not returning in 2027

Nine plans will not be offered in Oklahoma County for the 2027 plan year:

If your plan is on this list, you should receive a non-renewal notice from your carrier. Losing coverage because a plan leaves the market triggers a Special Enrollment Period: you generally have from December 8, 2026 through the end of February 2027 to pick a new Medicare Advantage plan or go back to Original Medicare and add a stand-alone Part D plan. Doing nothing by that date means you'd roll to Original Medicare without drug coverage, which can lead to a late-enrollment penalty later.

Plans new for 2027

Eight Medicare Advantage plans are being added in Oklahoma County for 2027:

Several of these are Special Needs Plans — D-SNPs for people with both Medicare and Medicaid, or C-SNPs for people with certain chronic conditions. Eligibility rules are set by CMS and the plan, so a SNP is not something anyone can simply pick.

Renames and other changes to watch

Seven plans are keeping going but under a new name, and 17 plans altogether are changing on at least one of premium, deductible, type or name for 2027. Among the renames: Aetna Medicare Signature Care (HMO) was Aetna Medicare Signature (HMO); Humana Essentials Plus Giveback (PPO) was HumanaChoice Giveback H7617-056 (PPO); Humana Total Complete (HMO) was Humana Gold Plus H6622-032 (HMO); Humana Value Choice (PPO) was Humana Full Access H7617-053 (PPO); AARP Medicare Advantage Extras from UHC OK-10 (HMO-POS) was the OK-8 version; UHC Dual Advantage OK-V1 (HMO-POS D-SNP) was UHC Dual Complete OK-V001; and DEVOTED C-SNP CHOICE ENHANCED 009 OK (PPO C-SNP) was DEVOTED C-SNP CHOICE PREMIUM 009 OK.

A new name does not necessarily mean a new plan — but the ANOC in your mailbox will spell out what, if anything, has shifted. Forty-four plans in the county continue into 2027 without a rename.

What's set and what's still coming for 2027

A few program-wide numbers are already confirmed for 2027. The Part D out-of-pocket cap goes to $2,400 (from $2,100 in 2026). The Part D maximum deductible goes to $700 (from $615 in 2026). The Part D national base beneficiary premium is $41.33 — a formula input CMS uses, not the premium any single plan charges. The coverage gap, often called the "donut hole," has been gone since 2025, replaced by three simpler phases, and the Medicare Prescription Payment Plan continues as an option to spread drug costs over the calendar year.

Two important numbers for 2027 have not been announced yet: the standard Part B premium and deductible, and the IRMAA income brackets and surcharges. CMS typically publishes these later in the fall, usually in November. We'll update our coverage when those figures are released.

How to use this during Annual Enrollment

The window to make a change is October 15 through December 7, 2026. A good order of operations:

1. Read the ANOC your current plan mailed in late September; note any price or benefit change. 2. If your plan is on the "not returning" list above, watch for your non-renewal letter and plan to pick a replacement by the end of February 2027. 3. Use the Plan Finder at medicare.gov to compare your 2027 options side by side — it's the only place to see each plan's full premium, deductible, drug formulary, pharmacy network and provider network for your ZIP code. 4. If you enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan on January 1 and change your mind, the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period (January 1 – March 31, 2027) lets you switch once.

Frequently asked questions

What happens if my Medicare Advantage plan isn't offered in Oklahoma County next year?
Your carrier will send a non-renewal notice. You get a Special Enrollment Period that generally runs from December 8, 2026 through the end of February 2027 to pick a different Medicare Advantage plan or return to Original Medicare and add a stand-alone Part D plan. If you take no action, you'll end up on Original Medicare without drug coverage on January 1, which can lead to a late-enrollment penalty down the road.
I like my current plan and it's still being offered. Do I have to do anything?
No. If your plan is on the 2027 roster, it renews automatically. It's still worth reading the Annual Notice of Change you were mailed to confirm the premium, deductible, drug list and provider network for next year.
Is a renamed plan the same plan?
Often yes — a rename by itself just changes the label. But a rename can also come with changes to premium, deductible or benefits. The ANOC from the plan is the document that spells out what, specifically, is different for 2027.
Where can I get help comparing plans in Oklahoma City?
The Plan Finder at medicare.gov lets you enter your ZIP code, drugs and preferred providers to see every Medicare Advantage and Part D plan available to you for 2027. You can also call 1-800-MEDICARE (TTY 1-877-486-2048), 24 hours a day, seven days a week. ## Where to go next For official plan details, pricing and provider networks, use the Plan Finder at medicare.gov or call 1-800-MEDICARE. Your plan's own ANOC and Evidence of Coverage documents are the authoritative source for what is changing in your specific plan for 2027.
