Key takeaways

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield (HCSC) and Centene (WellCare) will not offer Medicare Advantage plans in Tulsa County in 2027; Native Advantage is new to the county.
  • 14 plans are leaving after 2026 and 7 plans are new for 2027; the table below lists every plan by carrier.
  • If your current plan is not returning, you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period to pick a new plan without waiting.
  • The Annual Enrollment Period ends December 7, 2026, and any change you make takes effect January 1, 2027.

TULSA — The 2027 Medicare Advantage lineup for Tulsa County is set, and the shape of the local market is shifting. Two carriers that sell plans here in 2026 — Blue Cross Blue Shield (HCSC) and Centene (WellCare) — are not returning for 2027, while a new carrier, Native Advantage, is entering the county. Seven plans are new, 14 are leaving, and most of the rest continue, some under new names. Open enrollment runs October 15 through December 7, 2026, and anything you change in that window starts January 1, 2027.

What's changing in Tulsa County for 2027

Medicare Advantage plans are approved county by county, so the picture for Tulsa residents is really the picture for Tulsa County. Compared with 2026, nine carriers shrink to eight, but the total plan count stays in roughly the same range. Of the plans offered in 2026, 43 continue into 2027, 14 are leaving, 7 are new, and 5 keep their basic structure but get a new name. CMS also flags 15 plans as changing in some way — premium, deductible, type or name — so even continuing members should read the Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) their plan mailed in September.

The two biggest shifts are at the carrier level. Blue Cross Blue Shield (HCSC) is pulling its full Tulsa County Medicare Advantage lineup after 2026 — eight plans in all, spanning HMO, PPO and D-SNP. Centene (WellCare) is also exiting the county, taking three PPO plans with it. In their place, Native Advantage is new to the county with one HMO plan.

Carriers staying in Tulsa County

The table below lists every plan by carrier for 2027. In alphabetical order, the carriers that continue to serve Tulsa County are:

Carrier counts are a matter of availability only; they say nothing about which plan fits a given person's doctors, drugs or budget.

Plans not returning for 2027

Fourteen plans will not be offered in Tulsa County next year. Nine of them come from the two exiting carriers:

Three more plans are leaving even though their carriers stay: Aetna Medicare Signature (PPO) from Aetna (CVS Health), HumanaChoice SNP-DE H5216-469 (PPO D-SNP) from Humana, and UHC Dual Complete OK-S002 (HMO-POS D-SNP) from UnitedHealthcare.

If your plan is on this list, Medicare gives you a Special Enrollment Period. You can switch to another Medicare Advantage plan or go back to Original Medicare (and add a Part D drug plan) from December 8, 2026 through the end of February 2027. You do not have to wait for the regular enrollment window to act, but you also do not have to rush — your old plan still covers you through December 31, 2026.

Plans new for 2027

Seven plans are being added in Tulsa County for 2027:

A few of these names look familiar for a reason. Aetna Medicare Signature (PPO) is leaving as the old plan but returning as a newly filed plan, and UHC Dual Complete OK-S002 (HMO-POS D-SNP) is being re-filed under the same name. CMS treats them as new plans, so details may differ from the 2026 versions — the plan documents are the place to check.

Renamed plans — same plan, new label

Five plans keep going but under a different name. The old name is in parentheses:

A new name does not automatically mean new benefits, but the ANOC will spell out what, if anything, changes January 1.

Plan types available in Tulsa County

Across the 2026 lineup, Tulsa County residents could pick among HMO, HMO-POS, PPO and PFFS plans, plus 24 Special Needs Plans aimed at people who are dually eligible for Medicare and Medicaid (D-SNPs), live with certain chronic conditions (C-SNPs), or live in or need nursing-home-level care (I-SNPs). All plans in the county include Part D drug coverage. The 2027 mix shifts with the carrier changes above, but all four plan types are still represented.

What to do during the fall 2026 window

The Annual Enrollment Period is October 15 through December 7, 2026. If you do nothing, your current plan simply renews for 2027 — assuming it is being offered. The exception is the 14 plans listed above; those members need to make a choice.

Two numbers to keep in mind on the drug side: the Part D out-of-pocket cap rises to $2,400 in 2027 (up from $2,100 in 2026), and the Part D maximum deductible rises to $700 in 2027 (up from $615 in 2026). The Part B standard premium and deductible for 2027, and the 2027 IRMAA income brackets, had not been announced by CMS as of this writing; CMS typically releases them in the fall.

Frequently asked questions

My Blue Cross or Wellcare plan is leaving Tulsa — when do I need to pick a new plan?
You have two windows. You can switch during Annual Enrollment (October 15 – December 7, 2026) for coverage starting January 1, 2027. If you miss that, Medicare gives people whose plan is non-renewed a Special Enrollment Period that runs from December 8, 2026 through the end of February 2027, so you can still move to another Medicare Advantage plan or return to Original Medicare with a stand-alone Part D plan.
If I do nothing, what happens on January 1, 2027?
If your plan is on the list of continuing plans, it renews automatically with the changes described in the Annual Notice of Change your plan sent in September. If your plan is on the "leaving" list, you will not have Medicare Advantage coverage starting January 1 unless you enroll in a new plan — but you will still have Original Medicare.
Is a plan that is "new for 2027" actually brand new?
Sometimes yes, sometimes it is a reworked version of an older plan filed under a new contract. The Medicare Plan Finder at medicare.gov and the plan's own Summary of Benefits are the right place to see what the plan actually covers and what it costs.
How many Medicare Advantage carriers will serve Tulsa County in 2027?
Eight. Blue Cross Blue Shield (HCSC) and Centene (WellCare) are exiting the county after 2026, and Native Advantage is joining — leaving a net of eight carriers for 2027. ## Where to get personalized help For plan-by-plan details — premiums, drug lists, provider networks and star ratings — use the Medicare Plan Finder at medicare.gov or call 1-800-MEDICARE (TTY 1-877-486-2048), available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Your plan's Annual Notice of Change and Evidence of Coverage are the official sources for what your current plan will do in 2027.
