MyMedicarePlans.org is an independent consumer site; we are not Regence and not Medicare. We can tell you what is on offer, but the plan documents and Medicare Plan Finder are where the dollars-and-cents details live.
What is new, renamed, or not returning
For 2027, Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon is not launching any new Medicare Advantage plans in Multnomah County, and none of its current plans are leaving the county. That does not mean nothing is changing. Every Medicare Advantage plan can and does adjust premiums, deductibles, copays, drug tiers, provider networks and extra benefits from one year to the next. Those changes are documented in each plan's Annual Notice of Change (ANOC), which plans mail to current members in late September.
If you are already in one of the four plans above, the ANOC is the single most useful document you will get this fall. Read the "what is changing" section line by line before you decide whether to stay put.
How Regence fits into the broader Portland market
Regence is one of several carriers in the county. For 2027, nine other carriers also offer Medicare Advantage plans in Multnomah County, for a county-wide total of 45 plans. If a Regence PPO is not the right fit — because of network, drug coverage or anything else — there are other carriers and plan types (including HMOs and Special Needs Plans from other insurers) worth comparing on medicare.gov.
How to check a plan against your doctors and drugs before Dec. 7
Before you enroll in or renew any Medicare Advantage plan, do these four checks:
1. Confirm your doctors. Call each provider's office directly and ask whether they will be in-network for the specific Regence plan you are considering for 2027 — not just "Regence." Networks are plan-specific. 2. Confirm your prescriptions. Use the Medicare Plan Finder at medicare.gov to enter every medication, dose and pharmacy. The tool will show how each plan's formulary treats your drugs for 2027. 3. Confirm your pharmacy. Preferred versus standard pharmacy status can matter. The plan's own pharmacy directory is the source of truth. 4. Read the Summary of Benefits and Evidence of Coverage. These are the official plan documents; marketing flyers are not.
