What Medicare Advantage plans does HealthSpring offer in Garland for 2027?
In Dallas County, where Garland is located, HealthSpring will offer six Medicare Advantage plans for 2027. Five are HMOs and one is a PPO. Two are Dual Eligible Special Needs Plans (D-SNPs), designed for people who qualify for both Medicare and Medicaid, and five of the six include Part D prescription drug coverage.
CMS lists these plans under HealthSpring's parent organization, Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC), but you will see them marketed under the HealthSpring name. In alphabetical order, the 2027 plans are:
- HealthSpring Courage (HMO) — HMO, without drug coverage
- HealthSpring Preferred (HMO) — HMO, with drug coverage
- HealthSpring Preferred Savings (HMO) — HMO, with drug coverage
- HealthSpring TotalCare (HMO D-SNP) — HMO D-SNP, with drug coverage
- HealthSpring TotalCare Plus (HMO D-SNP) — HMO D-SNP, with drug coverage; new for 2027
- HealthSpring True Choice (PPO) — PPO, with drug coverage
The full table on this page shows each plan's type and drug-coverage status side by side.
What is new or not returning from HealthSpring for 2027?
For 2027, HealthSpring is adding one plan in Dallas County — HealthSpring TotalCare Plus (HMO D-SNP) — and one of its 2026 plans is not being offered again. Everything else carries over, but "carries over" does not mean "unchanged." A plan that renews can still change its premium, deductible, copays, network and drug list from one year to the next.
Those specifics live in the Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) each plan mails to its current members in September. If you are already in a HealthSpring plan, pull out that ANOC — it is the one document that tells you, in writing, what your plan will look like in 2027.
What happens if a HealthSpring plan is not offered in 2027?
If the specific HealthSpring plan you are on is the one not returning for 2027, the carrier is required to send you a non-renewal notice. You will not be left without Medicare — your Original Medicare (Parts A and B) continues — but you do need to pick a new Medicare Advantage or Part D plan during the Annual Enrollment Period, which runs October 15 through December 7, 2026, for coverage that starts January 1, 2027.
If you do nothing and your plan does renew, it rolls over automatically with the changes described in the ANOC.
How do I check a HealthSpring plan against my doctors and prescriptions?
The most reliable way is to use the Medicare Plan Finder at Medicare.gov. You can enter your ZIP code, add your prescriptions and the pharmacies you use, and see each plan's drug costs and formulary tier. For doctors and hospitals, check the plan's own online provider directory, or call the plan to confirm — networks can change during the year, and the directory is updated more often than printed materials.
A short checklist before December 7, 2026:
- List every prescription (name, dose, how often).
- List every doctor, specialist and hospital you want to keep.
- Check each on Medicare.gov's Plan Finder and on the plan's own directory and formulary.
- If something is unclear, call 1-800-MEDICARE (TTY 1-877-486-2048), available 24/7.
What 2027 Medicare numbers are already set?
CMS has confirmed a few program-wide figures for 2027 that apply no matter which plan you choose:
- The Part D out-of-pocket cap rises to $2,400 in 2027 (it is $2,100 in 2026).
- The Part D maximum deductible rises to $700 in 2027 ($615 in 2026).
- The Part D national base beneficiary premium for 2027 is $41.33. This is a formula input used in Medicare's calculations — it is not what any particular plan charges.
The 2027 Part B standard premium and deductible, and the 2027 IRMAA income brackets, have not been announced yet. CMS typically publishes those later in the fall, usually in November. Don't rely on estimates; wait for the official numbers.
When do I need to decide?
The Annual Enrollment Period for 2027 coverage runs October 15 through December 7, 2026. A change you make in that window takes effect January 1, 2027. If you do nothing and your current plan is offered again, you are automatically re-enrolled under the terms in your ANOC.
There is also a Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period from January 1 through March 31, 2027, when people already in a Medicare Advantage plan can make one change (switch to another MA plan or go back to Original Medicare, with a Part D plan if needed).
