Orlando, Fla. — The 2027 Medicare Advantage picture in Orange County is set, and it looks different from this year's. Federal filings show 16 plans that are new for 2027, 33 plans that will not come back after Dec. 31, 2026, and one carrier — Health First Health Plans, Inc. — leaving the county entirely. One carrier, AmeriHealth Caritas VIP Care, is new to the area. The Annual Enrollment Period runs Oct. 15 through Dec. 7, 2026, and any change you make takes effect Jan. 1, 2027.

How many Medicare Advantage plans are offered in Orlando for 2027?

Orlando sits in Orange County, where 123 Medicare Advantage plans from 16 carriers will be offered in 2027. By plan type, that lineup includes 84 HMOs, 11 HMO-POS plans and 28 PPOs. Of the 123, 64 are Special Needs Plans (for people with certain chronic conditions, both Medicare and Medicaid, or who live in a care facility), and 111 include Part D drug coverage.

The county is one of the busier Medicare markets in Florida, and most national carriers compete here. The table below lists every plan by carrier and type.

Which carriers are selling Medicare Advantage in Orange County in 2027?

The 16 carriers offering plans in Orange County for 2027 are, in alphabetical order: Aetna (CVS Health), Align Senior Care, AmeriHealth Caritas VIP Care, Blue Cross Blue Shield (HCSC), Centene (WellCare), Devoted Health, Doctors HealthCare Plans, Inc., Elevance Health (Anthem), Florida Blue, Florida Blue HMO, Florida Complete Care, Humana, Longevity Health Plan, Solis Health Plans, Ultimate Health Plans and UnitedHealthcare.

The biggest shelves by count come from Humana (35 plans), Elevance Health/Anthem (22) and UnitedHealthcare (13). Smaller, more focused carriers — Longevity Health Plan, Align Senior Care, Florida Blue and Florida Blue HMO — carry one to four plans each, often aimed at a specific type of member.

What plans are new for 2027 in Orange County?

Sixteen plans are new to Orange County for 2027. In alphabetical order by carrier, they are:

Several of these are Special Needs Plans — chronic-condition (C-SNP), dual-eligible (D-SNP) or institutional (I-SNP) — meaning you must meet specific eligibility rules to join.

Which Medicare Advantage plans are not returning in 2027?

Thirty-three plans will not be offered in Orange County after Dec. 31, 2026. In alphabetical order by carrier, the plans leaving are:

Health First Health Plans, Inc. is the one carrier leaving Orange County altogether; its three plans above all end with the 2026 plan year. Note that some names appear in both the "new" and "leaving" lists — that often reflects a plan contract that is ending while a plan with the same or similar name launches under a different contract number. The table on this page is the authoritative, county-level list.

What happens if my Medicare Advantage plan is leaving Orlando?

If your plan is on the "not returning" list, your carrier is required to send you a non-renewal notice this fall. You then qualify for a Special Enrollment Period that runs from Dec. 8, 2026 through Feb. 28, 2027 to pick a new Medicare Advantage plan or go back to Original Medicare and add a stand-alone Part D plan. You will not be left without coverage on Jan. 1 if you act — but if you do nothing, you will be returned to Original Medicare without drug coverage.

If your plan continues, read the Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) your carrier mailed in late September. It spells out what is changing on premium, deductible, drug list, provider network and extra benefits for 2027. Several Orange County plans — including a handful from Centene (WellCare), Devoted Health, Doctors HealthCare Plans, Humana, Aetna and UnitedHealthcare — have been renamed for 2027, so a familiar plan may appear on your paperwork under a new name.

What is changing across Medicare for the 2027 plan year?

CMS has confirmed a few program-level numbers for 2027 that apply no matter which plan you pick. The Part D out-of-pocket cap rises to $2,400 in 2027 (up from $2,100 in 2026), the Part D maximum deductible rises to $700 (up from $615 in 2026), and the Part D national base beneficiary premium is $41.33 for 2027. That base premium is a formula input Medicare uses — it is not what any specific plan charges.

The 2027 Part B standard premium and deductible, and the 2027 IRMAA income brackets, have not been announced yet. CMS typically publishes them in the fall, usually November. Check medicare.gov once those numbers post.

When is the deadline to choose a 2027 plan?

The Annual Enrollment Period runs Oct. 15, 2026 through Dec. 7, 2026, and any change you make takes effect Jan. 1, 2027. If you do nothing and your plan is still offered, it renews automatically with the ANOC changes. If you want to switch Medicare Advantage plans after Jan. 1, there is a second window — the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period, Jan. 1 through March 31, 2027 — when you can change MA plans once or move back to Original Medicare.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find the full list of 2027 Medicare Advantage plans in Orange County?
The table on this page lists every plan available in Orange County for 2027 by carrier and plan type. For personalized comparisons that include your doctors and prescriptions, use the Medicare Plan Finder at medicare.gov or call 1-800-MEDICARE (TTY 1-877-486-2048), available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
What should I do if I got a letter saying my plan is not being offered next year?
Read the letter carefully — it is your official non-renewal notice. You have a Special Enrollment Period from Dec. 8, 2026 through Feb. 28, 2027 to pick a new Medicare Advantage plan or return to Original Medicare and add a stand-alone Part D plan. You can compare options at medicare.gov or by calling 1-800-MEDICARE.
If I like my current plan, do I have to do anything during the Annual Enrollment Period?
No. If your plan is being offered again in 2027, it renews automatically on Jan. 1. Still, it is worth reading the Annual Notice of Change you received this fall, because premium, deductible, drug list, network and extra benefits can change from one year to the next.
Does a new carrier in Orange County mean I should switch?
Not by itself. A new carrier — like AmeriHealth Caritas VIP Care, which is entering Orange County in 2027 — simply adds another choice. Whether a plan fits you depends on your doctors, prescriptions, budget and whether you qualify for any Special Needs Plan. Compare the specifics at medicare.gov before making any change.
