What Medicare Advantage plans does UnitedHealthcare offer in Lincoln for 2027?

In Lancaster County — the county Lincoln sits in — UnitedHealthcare has eight Medicare Advantage plans for 2027: five HMO-POS plans and three PPO plans. Six of the eight include Part D prescription drug coverage; two do not. Three are Dual Special Needs Plans (D-SNPs), designed for people who qualify for both Medicare and Medicaid.

The full roster, alphabetical by plan name, appears in the table below. The 2027 plans are:

We can list the names and types because CMS publishes them. We can't quote premiums, copays, networks, drug lists or star ratings for any of them in this article — those details change plan by plan and belong on the official Medicare Plan Finder.

What is new or not returning in UnitedHealthcare's 2027 Lincoln lineup?

Three UnitedHealthcare plans are new in Lancaster County for 2027: AARP Medicare Advantage Patriot No Rx NE-MA2 (HMO-POS), UHC Dual Complete NE-QV1 (HMO-POS D-SNP) and UHC Dual Complete NE-S4 (HMO-POS D-SNP). Three UnitedHealthcare plans sold in the county in 2026 are not being offered in 2027.

If one of the plans leaving is yours, UnitedHealthcare is required to send a non-renewal notice. If your current plan is coming back, you will instead get an Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) in the mail — a plain-language summary of what will be different about your plan in 2027, from the monthly premium to the drug formulary. It is worth reading cover to cover before December 7.

What are the Special Needs Plans in Lancaster County, and who are they for?

Three of UnitedHealthcare's eight Lancaster County plans for 2027 are Dual Special Needs Plans (D-SNPs): UHC Dual Complete NE-QV1, UHC Dual Complete NE-S002 and UHC Dual Complete NE-S4. D-SNPs are built for people who have both Medicare and Medicaid, and enrollment is limited to people who qualify on both.

UnitedHealthcare is not offering a Chronic-Condition SNP (C-SNP) or Institutional SNP (I-SNP) in the county for 2027. If you aren't dually eligible, a D-SNP isn't an option for you — but the carrier's other five Lancaster County plans are open to anyone with Medicare Parts A and B who lives in the service area.

How do I check a plan against my doctors and prescriptions before December 7?

The most reliable way is the Medicare Plan Finder at medicare.gov. You enter your ZIP code and the prescriptions you take, and it will show you each 2027 plan's premium, deductible, drug tiers and estimated yearly cost based on your specific medications. You can also mark your preferred pharmacy.

For doctors and hospitals, use the plan's own provider directory — linked from each plan listing on medicare.gov, or on UnitedHealthcare's site — and, if a provider matters to you, call the office and ask whether they are in-network for that specific plan name and contract number for 2027. Networks change in January, so a "yes" for 2026 is not a "yes" for 2027. If you'd rather talk to a person, 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227) is open 24/7.

What is actually changing in Medicare for 2027?

A few program-wide numbers are already set by CMS for 2027. The Part D out-of-pocket cap rises to $2,400 (up from $2,100 in 2026). The maximum Part D deductible a plan can charge is $700 (up from $615 in 2026). The Part D national base beneficiary premium for 2027 is $41.33 — that's a formula input used behind the scenes, not what any one plan will charge you.

The 2027 Part B standard premium and deductible and the 2027 IRMAA income brackets have not been announced yet. CMS normally publishes them later in the fall, usually in November.

Any change you choose between October 15 and December 7, 2026 takes effect January 1, 2027. If you do nothing and your current plan is being offered again, it renews automatically with the changes described in your ANOC. If you enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan and decide it isn't right for you, the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period from January 1 to March 31, 2027 gives you one chance to switch to another MA plan or go back to Original Medicare.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to do anything if I like my UnitedHealthcare plan?
No. If your plan is being offered again in Lancaster County for 2027, it will renew automatically on January 1. Read the Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) you receive in the mail so you know what will be different — premium, drug list, copays or network — and only act if something no longer works for you.
What if my current UnitedHealthcare plan is one of the three not returning in 2027?
You will get a non-renewal letter from UnitedHealthcare explaining that your plan is ending December 31, 2026. That letter triggers a Special Enrollment Period, giving you extra time beyond December 7 to choose another Medicare Advantage plan or move to Original Medicare with a stand-alone Part D plan. Using the Annual Enrollment window is still the simplest path, since your new coverage then starts cleanly on January 1.
How do I know if I qualify for one of the Dual Complete (D-SNP) plans?
D-SNPs are only for people who have both Medicare and Medicaid. In Nebraska, Medicaid eligibility is determined by the state; you can check your status through Nebraska DHHS or by calling 1-800-MEDICARE. If you qualify, you can enroll in or switch D-SNPs more often than once a year under special enrollment rules.
Where can I compare UnitedHealthcare plans against other carriers in Lancaster County?
The Medicare Plan Finder at medicare.gov is the single place that shows every 2027 Medicare Advantage plan available at your address, across all carriers — 41 plans in Lancaster County for 2027 — side by side. You can filter by plan type, by whether drug coverage is included, and by the prescriptions and pharmacies you use.
