MyMedicarePlans.org is an independent consumer site. We are not UnitedHealthcare, and UnitedHealthcare is one of nine carriers offering Medicare Advantage in Washoe County for 2027 (42 plans in total across all carriers).
What UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage plans are offered in Reno for 2027?
UnitedHealthcare is offering 8 Medicare Advantage plans in Washoe County — the county Reno sits in — for 2027. By plan type, that is 4 HMO-POS plans and 4 PPO plans. All 8 include Part D prescription drug coverage. Six of the eight are Dual Special Needs Plans (D-SNPs) designed for people who qualify for both Medicare and Medicaid; there are no Chronic Condition SNPs (C-SNPs) or Institutional SNPs (I-SNPs) from this carrier in the county for 2027.
The table below lists every UnitedHealthcare plan in Washoe County for next year, in alphabetical order. We cannot quote premiums, copays, networks, drug lists or star ratings for any individual plan — those are the kinds of details CMS reserves for the Medicare Plan Finder and the plan's own Evidence of Coverage.
What is new, renamed or not returning from UnitedHealthcare for 2027?
Two UnitedHealthcare plans are new for 2027 in Washoe County: UHC Dual Complete NV-Q3 (PPO D-SNP) and UHC Dual Complete NV-S6 (PPO D-SNP). Two existing D-SNPs were renamed — UHC Dual Complete NV-Q1 (HMO-POS D-SNP) was previously UHC Dual Complete NV-S001, and UHC Dual Complete NV-Q2 (PPO D-SNP) was previously UHC Dual Complete NV-S002. One UnitedHealthcare plan offered in 2026 is not being offered for 2027.
If you are currently enrolled in the plan that is not returning, UnitedHealthcare is required to send you a non-renewal notice explaining your options and the Special Enrollment Period that applies. If your plan was renamed, your coverage carries forward, but the plan name on your new card will be different. In every case, the Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) your plan mailed in late September is the document that lists exactly what is changing for your plan next year.
What stays the same if I do nothing by December 7?
If your UnitedHealthcare plan is being offered again for 2027 and you take no action, you stay enrolled and your coverage renews on January 1, 2027, with the changes described in the ANOC. You do not have to re-enroll each year. The Annual Enrollment Period (October 15 – December 7, 2026) is your chance to switch plans, change carriers, or move between Medicare Advantage and Original Medicare if the ANOC shows changes you don't want to live with. There is also the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period from January 1 to March 31, 2027, which gives Medicare Advantage members one more chance to switch to another Medicare Advantage plan or return to Original Medicare.
How do I check a plan against my doctors and prescriptions before December 7?
Use the Medicare Plan Finder at medicare.gov or call 1-800-MEDICARE (TTY 1-877-486-2048), which is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Plan Finder lets you type in your prescriptions and preferred pharmacy, then shows how each plan in Washoe County would cover them, including the total estimated yearly cost. For doctors and hospitals, check the plan's own provider directory — on UnitedHealthcare's member site for its plans — and, when it matters, call the provider's office to confirm they will accept the specific plan for 2027. Networks and formularies can change from one plan year to the next, so last year's answer is not automatically this year's answer.
What 2027 Medicare figures are already confirmed?
A few program-wide figures for 2027 are already set by CMS. The Part D out-of-pocket cap rises to $2,400 in 2027 (it is $2,100 in 2026). The Part D maximum deductible is $700 in 2027 (up from $615 in 2026). The Part D national base beneficiary premium for 2027 is $41.33 — that is a formula input CMS uses, not a figure any particular plan charges you.
The 2027 Part B standard premium and deductible, and the 2027 IRMAA income brackets, have not been announced yet. CMS typically publishes those in the fall, usually November. We will update our coverage when they are released.
